  • Well-kept family site in the Peak District National Park’s Hope Valley
  • Pennine Way start 15 minutes’ drive; Chatsworth House half an hour
  • Peaceful tree-shaded pitches with superb modern facilities and a shop
Set in Derbyshire’s Peak District National Park, Hope Valley Holidays opened for the first time in 2026. It has an excellent location between the villages of Hope and Bamford in the lush Hope Valley, with easy access to the Castleton caves and climbing at Mam Tor, Stanage Edge and Kinder Scout all within 25 minutes’ drive. The site has pitches across several peaceful and tree-lined fields, with oh-so-smart heated shower and washroom facilities dotted strategically around the place, and a small shop selling essentials. The owners have put the natural environment at the centre of everything they do; there are wildflower borders around every field, and the mature woodland surrounding the site is awash with wildflowers in spring and summer. Numerous birds and animals visit too, and a quiet hour spent on your pitch may well reveal the wildlife that shares your space. Barbecues are welcome on the grassy pitches, but those who fancy sampling the Derbyshire gourmet scene can head to a pub about five minutes’ away on foot. Easy meals? A takeaway in Hope (25 minutes’ walk) will also deliver to your pitch. There are numerous cafés, bars and restaurants in postcard-pretty Hathersage (five minutes’ drive), and a well-known fine-dining pub around 10 minutes away by car.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Large spacious pitch with nice surroundings in a good location. Walks and cycle routes from the campsite. Good amenities and an indoor games room that included pool, table football, table tennis & darts.

Disliked A couple improvements worth mentioning: Electric showers in the woman's restroom as the showers were cold but the mens had electric showers that were lovely & warm.
A shower curtain & bench in the cubicle to stop the spray wetting all your clothes/shoes.
Hooks by the sinks to hang your things.
Drinking water taps dotted around.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Location was good and it’s very convenient, most of the grounds are big and well maintained overall had a great nights stay.

Disliked Next to where we had to camp there was a load of dumped cardboard amongst what looked like branches from trees, pitch up says “ shower and washroom facilities dotted strategically around the place”

There’s 1 shower bock for men there are 2 toilets and 2 showers and there not dotted strategically around the place. Girls have double the toilets and shower.

We were limited to where we could pitch because we were in a roof tent and this was the furthest away from the 1 toilet block. The signs from the road are not clear and we ended up driving towards the exit. By the time you see the small no entry sign it was too late. So had no option but the drive in to turn around. This was greeted by a guy throwing his arms up in the air with disproof I think he was the owner maybe as the same guy the patrolled the lower rood driving a grey van back and forward witch was very strange.. there’s a block at the back off us where 2 white t5 vans where who decided at 12am to have a rap contest until 1am so sleep wasn’t the best.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Love, love love hope valley holidays!!!!
The site is spacious, well maintained and thought out with lots to do for children, their is a secure dog walking area, play area, games room (darts, air hockey, ping pong, board games) kettle, fridge and freezer, you have hire fire pits and buy wood which we thought was a lovely touch.
The bathrooms and washing up stations are always clean, ladies showers were cold if timed wrong but it was bank holiday and very busy. Gill and Andy are lovely so helpful, if the office is closed they are more than happy to help. Hope valley holidays is our definite go to in the Peak district.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Very well organised site, nice and flat with plenty for kids. Clean toilets and lots of space. Will definitely be coming back.

Disliked The walk to the pub with young kids is a bit frightening to be fair. Very fast road with multiple crossings.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Marvellous pitch (thanks to Andy!), 3 tents on the site only. Decent clean, hot showers and loos with ample washing up space. The beautiful weather helped ;). The train line at the top of the field just added to the experience. About 15 minutes from the Travellers Rest too. The field (as we learned) has been drained and the owners have fantastic plans but god only knows why Peak Park authorities are so obstructive to improvements to a site-hey ho.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Really lovely space, well-maintained and great facilities.

Disliked There is a rail track that runs next to the site, but the trains do stop running in the night so it's not a huge issue.
