What customers say
Stunning views, chill vibe, and legends for owners. Spotless digs, communal kitchen (kettle & toaster sorted), and cute critters for the kids. Bit of a bugger with loo cleanliness/availability when busy and that steep driveway. Owners are on the ball with feedback, sorting out some gremlins.

Very lovely, clean site…
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Very lovely, clean site
Disliked Showers not very powerful and long wait as only two

From the manager: Hi there, thank you for your kind review. Sorry you had to wait for the showers. We are considering getting more showers/toilets to reduce the wait time. Hope to see you again.
Not sure we would stay again based on facilities
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Great views, close to the quarry if your climbing, amenities
Disliked Only 2 showers, hardly worked, mainly cold/freezing. Only 2 toilets, which caused a lot of queues.
We read on the reviews of this and owners mentioned that capacity of campsite was reduced to 15 pitches to stop the above. We counted well over 15 pitches taken.
We are climbers and needed a hot shower after climbing all day and paying £28 for one night was very disappointing

From the manager: Hi there, sorry you had to wait. We have reduced the site capacity by 15 pitches- not to only 15 pitches. We are considering getting more showers and toilets as we have found ourselves to be much busier this year. All feedback is welcome and we take it all into consideration.
Stay here, it’s amazing
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked The campsite was amazing!!! Great views 😊
We turned up on the wrong date, but they didn’t have a problem with us staying which was amazing. Whole Camp time site to ourselves. Again, thank you so much.🫶🏼

Liked Very quite and peaceful.
Disliked Que for the toilet

From the manager: Hi there, glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet, we also find it very peaceful :-)
Sorry you had to queue for the toilet. We have reduced the number of pitches but may reduce further as we want everyone to have a nice experience. We have found ourselves to be much busier than last year so we are considering increasing the facilities. Thanks for your feedback. Hope to see you again.

Excellent site if you're looking for…
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Excellent site if you're looking for peace and quiet. In terms of facilities, everything you will need however could do with a couple more toilets when busy as you can find yourself waiting around for a while to get in.

From the manager: Hi Blain, thanks for the review. We agree we could do with a couple more toilets during busy times. We’ve found ourselves to be much busier this year! We’ve reduced pitch numbers but may need to do this again. Hope to see you again!
Sort out the facilities and the site will be perfect!
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Lovely view and good location, large pitches. Great pub down the hill in the village :-) just be prepared for the steep walk back up the hill!
Disliked The poor facilities spoilt the experience, only 2 toilets and 2 showers for the whole site. There were over 30 tents/vans when we were there, so 2 toilets for around 100 people!
Showers also weren't clean, old dirt around the edges not just muck from people's feet. Water leaked from under the shower tray so the floor got wet and there's no shelf or chair to put a bag on, and nothing to wipe the floor with.
Indoor washing up area was OK (kettle and toaster were popular, as were the sockets near the floor for device charging) but people were brushing their teeth and washing faces in the kitchen sinks because of the lack of a proper washing area.
Toilets didn't flush well and my husband had an unpleasant experience dealing with someone else's blockage so we could use the toilet, no staff in sight. The small hand-towels provided in the toilet cubicles were very unhygienic.

From the manager: Hi there, we note your comments and sorry you had a problem with the facilities. We’re a small family site and found ourselves to be much busier than last year. Rest assured we’re working on improving the facilities during busy times.
We are always on site, we don’t have a hi vis or anything. We do sometimes employ someone to clean when we have a family event.
Thank you for your feedback. It’s very much taken into consideration to help us improve our little campsite :-)
Beautiful spot with plenty of space.…
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Beautiful spot with plenty of space. Gorgeous view. Nice to have a space with a toaster and kettle.
Disliked The facilities were too few, with just two unisex toilets and two showers, meaning queuing even though the site wasn’t particularly busy. They could do with the same block again, at least. Also, there was nowhere immediately obvious for drinking water, despite looking. Zero presence of the owners (despite trying to call them); I’m not saying they need to hold my hand but an appearance to say hello and answer questions (like, where’s the drinking water?) would’ve been nice.

From the manager: Hi there, thanks for your review. We’re always about and if we can’t answer immediately you can always message and we will get back to you. We don’t wear a hi vis or anything so you may mistake us for a fellow camper but we’re aspiring to be peaceful and unintrusive.
We agree we could do with more toilets and showers during busy times and have found ourselves much busier this year so will endeavour to rectify this in the future.
Really pleased you enjoyed the view and toaster/kettle :-)
Proximity to local pub and fish…
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Proximity to local pub and fish and chip shop. Tidy site and good size. Check in was easy and goats were a fun positive.
Communal kitchen with toaster and fridges was a nice surprise
Disliked Steep hill to the above pub but can’t be helped. Toilets and showers were quite busy and dirty by the morning with the weather conditions. 1/2 toilet had a broken toilet seat which wasn’t ideal and showers were cold for a while in the AM

From the manager: Hi Jenny, thanks for your review. We’ve taken the feedback from the weekend on board and reduced the number of pitches by 15 to alleviate the pressure on the facilities. We were at a family event on Saturday and normally do all cleaning/ maintenance ourselves but we had a cleaner on this occasion.
We’re pleased you enjoyed the site and we hope to see you again soon.
Great basic site
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Great views, great location, basic and very relaxed site, good kitchen and toilet block, cute small goats.
Disliked Toilet block good but showers were difficult to take due to dirty floor and no chair, bench, etc to get changed on. The two toilets ran out of toilet roll.
The two fields are on a slope: ok if you don't mind this but otherwise it's difficult to find a flattish spot.

From the manager: Hi there, thanks for your review. We normally take care of all cleaning and maintenance but as we had a family event we asked someone to do it for us. We’re sorry it didn’t meet expectations on this occasion. Pleased you enjoyed the views and the relaxed nature of the site. Hope to see you again soon.
