What customers say
This remote campsite boasts awesome valley views and a peaceful, wild feel. Campers loved the heaps of space, basic but good facilities (clean loos, cold taps), and easy booking. Great for bushwalks and near local pubs. Some found the field sloped and signage a bit tricky on arrival. Highly recommended, many keen to return.

Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked Absolutely perfect! So peaceful and clean with just wonderful views from any part of the field.
There was only 1 other camper there so you really could appreciate the tranquility. Walk to the pub was easy with fields of cows and sheep noisily grazing 🙂
The pub was a fab village pub that locals and walkers happily sat outside with a drink and good food.
Owner was friendly and easy to check in on the phone so totally recommend a visit.

Splendid
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Staying on this site felt like residing in a small piece of heaven for two days. The peace found sitting in such beautiful tranquility and quiet was a real tonic to modern everyday life. It’s a basic site but was perfect for us as we could still cook lovely hearty food and didn’t feel we compromised on anything. We will certainly be returning and the owner was lovely too.
Disliked Nothing.

Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked Very friendly staff, easy to find, and a limited number of cars and tents are permitted. Due to the quite large field, there was plenty of room available, so we had a quiet and relaxing stay while other campsites in the area were overcrowded. I couldn't recommend it more.
Disliked The field is on a slope; wheel chocks are useful

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Good views. Quiet. Portaloos clean and fully stocked
Disliked Please be aware. If biking the Monsal trail, we found no easy route to the campsite. Most direct would likely need to lift the bike. Also steps and a very steep hill. The footpath clearly states no cycling- we did manage to cycle down it though!!
