Fra bestyreren: We’re sorry to hear that your stay didn’t meet your expectations. We don’t usually respond to reviews, as we’re fortunate that most of our guests have a really positive experience. However, we’d like to clarify a few points for future visitors. Our listing advertises one toilet and one hot shower. As we’re an off-grid, wild camping site, we also mention in our information that guests should bring their own toilet paper, as supplies can occasionally run out between our visits. Had you contacted us during your stay, we would have been more than happy to replenish it straight away. Our description makes it clear from the outset that this is a wild camping experience with off-grid facilities, so we don’t advertise charging points or mains electricity. With regard to check-in, our arrival instructions ask guests to give us a call before they arrive. We don’t live on site, but we’re there regularly throughout the day and are always happy to welcome guests in person or check them in remotely. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive a call, so we weren’t aware you had arrived. While we’re a peaceful wild camping site rather than a holiday park, there is still plenty to enjoy. Guests can meet and feed our alpacas, hire kayaks, enjoy beautiful local walks, visit the restaurant just a couple of minutes away, or explore the nearby village. There are also several children’s play areas close by and Lyme Park is only a short drive away. All of these features are included in our listing so guests can decide whether our style of camping is the right fit for them. We’re sorry that Disley Meadow wasn’t what you were looking for, but we genuinely wish you all the best with your future camping trips.
