Nature lovers and couples in search of something special, gather round… here's a place that’s likely to give you a truly memorable experience in the Tarn-et-Garonne countryside. Book into Atmo’Sphère, about 10 minutes' drive from the medieval town of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, and you’ll be signing up for something fabulously unusual: the chance to stay in a completely clear geodesic dome that's completely hidden away in the woods. Wander out onto your deck, relax in one of the dome’s comfy chairs or cosy yourselves up in bed – either way, you’ll still have a full view of your surroundings. That means waking to dawn breaking through the branches, seeing the wildlife by day, and looking up into the stars glittering above you by night. And as your dome is completely private and surrounded by trees, with no neighbours nearby, you’ll have this experience all to yourselves – how gorgeously romantic. Most of what you need for a comfy break is provided here too – beds, bed linen, towels, lanterns and power sockets are all part of the setup, as is a mini kitchen (with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kettle) and a woodburning stove to keep everything nice and cosy. For many guests, the real highlight is just outside, though: your own private Nordic bath, where you can soak in the warm water while also soaking up the fabulous nature all around. There’s also a bathroom in the dome – but don't worry, this bit isn’t encased in transparent plastic, so you’ll have your privacy for that part of the setup…

Lokale seværdigheder

You may well find that you become somewhat wedded to your dome experience and want to spend much of your time just hanging out right there – but if you want a little bit of activity you can get up and have a stroll around the farm where you’re based, or head out into the surroundings to seek out some of the ancient dolmen within 10 minutes’ drive. The town of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val (10 minutes’ drive) is also worth a wander, with a pretty riverside, a colourful market and buildings dating back many centuries. Climb up to Le Rock d’Anglars for some spectacular views across the town and surroundings before heading underground at Grotte du Bosc to see the subterranean scenery. Other days out nearby might take you to Najac (35 minutes) to visit the Royal Fortress before heading out for a hike or canoe trip through the Gorges de l’Aveyron, or to visit the châteaux of Bruniquel and Penne (both 20 minutes) and Les Jardins de Quercy (25 minutes).
