Get to Glangwdi Glamping for bell tent breaks at a fantastic family-run site in a first-rate spot for bumbling around the Brecon Beacons National Park. Days of hiking, alpaca walking, mountain biking, horse riding, canoeing, gorge walking – and pretty much any other activity you're up for in this part of Powys – are a doddle to organise while on a holiday here. Taking on pursuits of a more leisurely sort is also an option at this scenic site, either by simply sitting down and admiring the views out across south Wales’ most sizeable mountain range or by wandering over to meet the pygmy goats, chickens and ducks at the farm. Barbecues with a backdrop of the Brecon Beacons are of course a brilliant way to arrange dinner on site (firepits are available and there’s wood to buy). But if you're not in the mood to cook, just set yourself down at the on-site artisan eatery, The Greedy Goat. The eatery can prepare you pizzas from dough made fresh on site, as well as a selection of desserts such as ice cream, ice cream milkshakes and waffle sticks with a variety of toppings. Tea and coffee are also up for grabs. There are also pubs, coffee shops or restaurants up the road in Brecon (five minutes’ drive). Work up an appetite with a walk around the Brecon Beacons, whether a gentle hike in the woods or while getting stuck into scaling Pen-y-Fan (20 minutes), the area’s highest peak.

Syntes om The yurt was beautiful and super clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The Pygmy goats and onsite Pizza were fabulous. The hosts Jo&Andrew were super friendly and helpful. Would 100% recommend this glampsite!

Syntes om Lovely owners, very friendly and helpful. Pygmy goats, ducks and free range chickens. 20 minute walk into Brecon. Great setup - comfortable bed & bedding, open but covered outdoor kitchen, fire bowl, excellent homely toilet block, shower. THE PIZZA - honestly some of the best pizza I've had, and I've had a lot of pizza - wish we'd had it twice.

Syntes ikke om We had 2 hot showers and 3 cold ones between us - not sure if there was a knack for it but would be great to fix this or put a sign up for timings/instructions if that's the problem. The tent is right next to an access road which leads to some small businesses (and maybe a property?) - there is minimal traffic but there were one or two cars each night which woke me until I started wearing earplugs. We didn't bbq but noticed there weren't bbq implements (tongs etc).

Facilities excellent and well thought through.

Hot tub - wood fired but it did get pretty warm if you stoked it up enough.
Location - easy into Brecon itself and a great base to explore the surrounding area. Lovely views of Pen y fan

Small point in that there is electricity there as charging sockets in the toilet block but there isn't hook up electrics at the tents themselves. Not a criticism but worth noting.

Welsh Poppy klokketelt

Syntes om Warm and cozy place! All the facilities - the shower room with glass window at top, allow you to feel immerse into the nature. Every tent is spacious, the bench and table are set with or without the shelter. No matter what weather is it, you can enjoy the time there.

The kitchen set well, or barbecues with the campfire is good idea! We had a wonderful stay and definitely will back! The location is really nice - there are lots to discover. Will come next time for longer stay!

Thanks again for the host, kind and very thoughtful. Wonderful couple do shares their knowledge about the plant and the way to make campfire. Amazing!

Lokale seværdigheder

Horse-riding sorts might like to saddle up at the nearby stables (10 minutes' drive), while mountain bikers can satiate their need for speed on the top trails at BikePark Wales (half an hour). And the outdoorsy antics don't end there… Brecon is something of a hub for such things with activity centres around town for rafting, canoeing, high ropes courses and gorge scrambling adventures. All sound too exhausting? Take a more leisurely ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway (half an hour) before heading home via the Penderyn whisky distillery (30 minutes) and sampling some locally made tipples. Break out of the Beacons for trips to some of the area's other attractions: Llandovery Castle is half an hour away, as is the literary town of Hay-on-Wye, a settlement lined with bookshops. A little further north, but well worth a trip are the lakes of the Elan Valley and the Red Kite Feeding Station in Rhayader; both are around 50 minutes drive.
