Přidejte své obchodní údajeHorse-mad folk and countryside-lovers alike are welcome at Domaine de la Frégière, which has holiday accommodation in the grounds of an Aveyron equestrian centre a couple of kilometres from the medieval village of Clairvaux d’Aveyron.
Clearly for many guests the resident horses are the main draw at this rural site, and you can get to know them in all sorts of ways: signing up for rides in the local countryside, taking your first steps with beginner lessons and kids’ pony rides or settling in for a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride. And of course there’s the option simply to admire them in the fields if you don’t want to ride at all.
There’s plenty more here aside from the horses though – you’re likely to spot peacocks and waterfowl (including geese and swans) around the site, and you can spend time swimming in the outdoor pool or fishing for trout in the pond. A play area and pétanque court are also on site for a bit more entertainment.
And beyond the site, there’s plenty to explore too: it’s surrounded by meadows and vineyards that are ripe for walks and bike rides, and you can get to the lovely town of Rodez with a drive of 20 minutes or so.
There’s a friendly family-oriented atmosphere here, and that’s at its most evident at the bar and during the communal meals held at big long tables piled high with bowls of local favourite aligot. If you’d rather do your own thing, there’s kitchen kit in each unit and a communal barbecue to use.

Místní atrakce
Leave the horses behind but keep the activity going with a game of golf (20 minutes’ drive), a treetop adventure at Vert Tea Jeu (20 minutes) or riding mountain bikes on the trails of Le Bois de l’Ours (15 minutes).
If you’d rather take a walk, perhaps seek out the waterfalls at Salles-la-Source (20 minutes) or head for the longer trails in the Aubrac Regional Natural Park (40 minutes). Places like Château de Belcastel (20 minutes), Château de Bournazel (20 minutes) and Château de Calmont d’Olt (40 minutes) are good for a wander too, and places like Le Jardin des Bêtes (half an hour) and Pradinas Animal Park (40 minutes) are close by for the kids.
Rodez (20 minutes) is well worth a visit too – take a stroll through the narrow streets up to the ‘Peak’ (the centre of town) to visit the pink cathedral and the Soulages Museum, then settle down for a picnic on the banks of the Aveyron river.
