Basic facilities but that was all we needed for 1 night and the pub is right next door if in real need of ‘proper’ toilets / running water. Having direct access to the lake was magical and why we picked the spot. Coniston is so lovely to swim in, the temperature was great and was the perfect wake up.

No em va agradar: Toilets were not very clean and gave off a potent smell with only one having toilet paper in during our stay.

No em va agradar: We arrived and it was raining really bad the site was boggy and we couldn’t park where we wanted. The toilets were muddy and wet and we couldn’t get a table in the pub due to it being full. We were wet and tired and hungry.

It’s a beautiful location, you can camp right on the lakeside with access to the water for swimming or other water activities. The site was quiet and we were told there was a maximum of 20 tents at a time so there is lots of space for everyone.
The owner was very helpful and answered all our questions. It was very wet the week we stayed and they helped tow people out who got stuck and then put down gravel and matting to help combat the mud.
The portaloos were cleaned everyday and had nice toilet paper!
There is a hotel next door which has good food and the town is about a 10 minute walk away with more places to eat and a few shops to buy supplies.No em va agradar: –
