Great site with good clean facility's and a great view.

- the beach is right on the campsite so can just walk down to access
- there’s a shop on site that is handy

- there was an outdoor shower for washing off the beach muck.

- I felt it was a little overcrowded/close pitches but this will obviously depend on when you stay/time of year.
- the showers were hot but it was borderline unbearable - I heard little ones crying saying it was burning and not wanting to go in.
- The door for the toilets and showers had a code but the door would frequently stick which is not very helpful when you’re going to the toilet. There was a real knack to it but found a lot of people struggling with it.

This site is a beautiful and peaceful hidden gem. Private access to the beach and a well maintained site. Lovely on-site shop with friendly and helpful staff and a football pitch for the kids. The on-site quiet times means it is suitable for all ages. The shower block is regularly cleaned throughout the day to keep clean, which can’t be an easy task with children using them and people bringing sand in on clothes and shoes from the beach. Within reasonable distance to Dumfries, Dalbeattie and the chocolate and ice cream factories for kids. Good central location for 7 Staines walking and cycling routes and a short drive from Loch Ken for water sports and the Galloway Activity Centre. The Local bus stops right outside the shop for public transport. There’s a lovely pub just a short walk away in the Barend holiday lodge sites that offer traditional pub grub. Our week was made perfect by the beautiful weather last week.

The only very slight negative would be the keypad entry on the ladies toilet- there’s a bit of a skill needed to get it to open.

Excellent location, great views, small campsite, play area for kids, regularly cleaned toilets and shower facility. The person managing the facility was very friendly and was always around to help. We travelled as a group of families and campsite was kibd enough to allocate a space where we could pitch together. There is a utility shop nearby selling snacks and beach play stuff, also the beach is just 100 meters away.

1. Amazing location, so close to the beach. Also, plenty to explore in the area.
2. Campsite not too big, has a family feel to it.

The inly reason it's not 5 starts is the facilities. There are only two ladies showers for the whole campsite. Morning queues in the shower were not fun.

Loved this park, amazing views and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Beautiful beach also.

The showers could be doing with a refurb and more added. I feel two ladies showers weren’t enough, that’s about all I can add though, fab site.
