Sharing is generally a thing to be encouraged… but sometimes you just need a bit of space to yourselves, right? And that’s exactly what you’ll get at Constantinople, where a single pitch sits within a secluded 3.5-acre wood in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Up to four people can stay here, but dogs aren’t allowed because of the local wildlife (and you may also find yourselves sharing the woodland with roaming sheep from time to time as well…) When you do want a little more company (or just some supplies), it’s a five-minute drive to the coastal village of Newport, which has a good collection of shops and places to eat. How you use your pitch is mostly up to you – you can choose exactly where you’d like to set up camp, depending on whether you’d like a bit of shade or sun and how close you’d like to be to the facilities. These include a flushing toilet, a hot shower, a wash basin and a place to plug in a camping fridge – all this is accessed via some steep steps, so a torch is a very good idea for after-dark wanderings. It’s all a bit of an adventure staying here, and that may well include a bit of outdoor cookery – you’re welcome to to bring along a barbecue for that, or gather fallen wood to build a campfire (using existing firepits where practical). You’ll pretty much be left to your own devices here, but the owners do ask that you’re mindful of your surroundings – make sure gates are closed behind you, don’t play any loud music and generally follow ‘leave no trace’ principles.
