Brook Farm

A aimé : We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here at Brook Farm camp site. It was a relaxing area with beautiful scenery, waking up to the sound of the birds and the farm animals around us was different but idylicc. The owners came and greeted us as soon as they arrived to make sure we got everything that we needed, they even went out of their way to fetch us some kindling and wood from a nearby shop for our fire. It rained on and off but we made the most of the warmth we did get, & when it got cold we made use of the campfire provided on the camp. We would definitely visit again as a family.

N'a pas aimé: Nothing to complain about. The children didn’t enjoy using the toilet as the smell was bad now and again but this was only when the toilet seat had been left up by other visitors and can not be helped- this is all part of the fun!

A aimé : Brooke Farm was quiet and idyllic. Lovely scenery all around. The sounds of birds was lovely to wake up to. A very simple campsite which is just what we wanted.

A aimé : I liked this site because it was only a small site with around 13 pitches and just a few electric ones. It was on a grass field but was very quiet and peaceful. Basic essentials like a portaloo and washing up area with recycling bins. We arrived slightly later than planned but a gentleman arrived (sorry I didn't get his name) who gave us a lovely welcome a few minutes after we arrived which was lovely.

A aimé : Nice field Lovely lady that asked if we had a good time we did thankyou.

N'a pas aimé: 1. Too far away from any store so had to drive. 2. Toilet area has no light so your peeing in the dark at night 3. Flush doesn't work properly 4. 2 dogs was set loose and partner is scared off them.

A aimé : We loved this campsite, it’s situated in a beautiful old English village with excellent views, the porta loo was spotless, there was plenty of washing up liquid, loo rolls, bowls, j clothes available. We walked 15 miles and stayed one night, we’d definitely return, the owners ensured we had everything and were available if we needed them. A great little campsite our dog loved it too.

A aimé : We absolutely loved everything about this place. Beautiful scenery all around, excellent walks both short and long. The onsite toilets were really clean. Plenty of space for the kids to run and play. Fire pits available to borrow. Lots to visit in the area too. The hosts made this visit absolutely delightful. As our first time using our own caravan we would like them to know they made this first experience wonderful for us. So helpful and accommodating to us as first timers.

A aimé : Nice location. An hour walk into Ashbourne. No shower or toilet facilities which we knew about. Fresh water available and somewhere to empty our portaloo. Ann the owner is lovely and met us on arrival to direct us. Very quiet site with nice views. I would stay again but only for couple days max due to no showers being available

A aimé : The people who own the farm were lovely, the field itself was good, spacious with level pitches and we were put next to our relatives as requested. The toilets are cleaned daily and kept to a high standard as much as possible and there are cleaning products out and available for guests to use should they wish.The Farm is in a great location too, lovely area.

N'a pas aimé: There are 2 port-a-loo's and no toilet block/shower or washing up facilities. The owners ensured the toilets were cleaned regularly and they were cleaned well, however we have stayed at many sites in and around Ashbourne that have had all of the facilities for the same and cheaper prices. Hence why I have given 4 not 5 stars

A aimé : very quite and peaceful would not recommend to tents, only for caravans with toilets

N'a pas aimé: As me and my partner where reading up on Brook farm before booking we read that there was no shower facilities which we where ok with and had no issue with, however we did not expect no shower facilities to entail a portable toilet which did not get changed our whole stay, or no sink to brush our teeth and no where to wash up, the only water supply we had was a cold tap on the fence which was no good for washing up at all. As well as this, on our last night after having a ok stay the people who owned the farm decided that without consulting me or my partner that it would be a good idea to cut the wet grass around our tent late at night which then meant that my hay fever was awful and it meant that when we were packing up the next day we had grass stuck on everything and has stained lots of our belongings, was not impressed.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Dear Aimee Thank you for your review. We only advertise a portaloo and it has a sink. It was fully serviced on Monday and you were the only people to use it. There is, a, sink in there as, well to use. We provide washing up bowls, washing up liquid, Jay cloths, scrubbers etc and hand gel is plentiful. You had an electric pitch to boil your water and this is camping and not a site with everything. The grass has to be mown and is a, working farm and the weather has been so wet of recent. I agree not ideal. You were not approachable as, you zipped up your tent so made it clear not to disturb you both. He gave you a wide berth. This clearly wasn't the site for you but we do not advertise anything that we do not provide.

A aimé : Me and my son both had a lovely time, perfect for my son to enjoy his campfire and beautiful surroundings for walks collecting sticks.
