  • Close to White River and Beaver Lake for fishing and watersports
  • Fishing pond, hiking trail and 18-hole disc golf course on site
What a special setting for an activity-packed Arkansas stay… The Farm Campground is a family-run campground and events venue in the hills of the Ozarks, with spectacular views of the mountains all around (and often some stunning sunsets to be seen too). There’s a whole lot of space from which to take it all in too: the estate spreads out over 160 acres and backs onto the vast Mark Twain National Forest. Music festivals, concerts and food events are frequently staged here, and there are all sorts of free on-site activities to check out too. Bring your fishing rod to hook largemouth bass and catfish out of the pond, head out on the three-mile hiking/BMX trail or take a wander around the campground to find the art installations scattered around the grounds. For something a little different, gather family and friends for a round on the 18-hole championship disc golf – winner gets the first marshmallow off the campfire (campfires and barbecues both being allowed here…) Sites at The Farm are natural in style to give you that rural feel, but they’re well supplied with amenities including toilets, showers, picnic tables and a washing-up area. It’s a family-friendly spot so you’ll be asked to keep noise down after 10pm (and that means plenty of peace to admire the starry skies too). This may be something of a rural retreat, but it’s not one that’s cut off – historic Eureka Springs is 20 minutes away via Highway 62, with a variety of shopping, activities and places to eat.

Local attractions

If you’ve brought fishing kit along, there are plenty of places to try it out around here: the nearby White River is well known for its trout fishing, while Beaver Lake (10 minutes’ drive) is the place for big striped bass and largemouthed bass. Those who’d rather get out on the water can also head to the White river for canoeing or kayaking days, or set off to the Kings River, half an hour away. And of course those watery surroundings make for some scenic days out too – Table Rock State Park (an hour’s drive) is a good place to get out for a hike past streams and waterfalls, as is the Roaring River State Park (half an hour). Underground has some pretty spectacular offerings too: Onyx Cave (35 minutes) and Cosmic Cavern (45 minutes) are both good locations for tours of living caves and activities like gemstone panning. Back up on the surface, gaze up at the awe-inspiring 67-foot Christ of the Ozarks (half an hour) or treat yourself to a tasting session at Keels Creek Winery (25 minutes).
