Located between the small towns of Arona and Stresa, Camping Solcio is a lakeside campsite with wonderful views of Lake Maggiore. The site is ideal for families with children, campers holidaying with their pets or couples and solo travellers. There are many activities available in the immediate surroundings such as waterskiing, windsurfing and cycling. Leisure facilities include a pétanque court and a volleyball court. The staff can also help you book other activities such as horse-riding and, in July and August the campsite organises regular sports tournaments and activities for the children. There is an on-site restaurant specialised in Italian cuisine, serving pizzas as well as traditional local dishes.

Local attractions

The campsite is a short drive from Milan and the Swiss border on the shores of Lake Maggiore. It is located between the small cities of Stresa and Arona in an area offering a wide range of outdoor activities. From watersports including waterskiing, sailing and swimming to hiking and cycling, there is plenty to do nearby. Hop on a boat to explore the Borromeo Islands, or drive up to the Val Grande for immemorable views of the hills. Stop in Verbania Pallanza for a visit to Villa Taranto and its botanic gardens. If you are into plants, then head to Gignese and visit the Alpinia Gardens, home to hundreds of mountain plants. There are many other small villages facing the lake including Arona, Belgirate, Stresa, Baveno, Cannero Riviera, Cannobio.
