  • Peaceful and scenic site a few minutes' drive from the A3
  • A 30-minute drive to Bonn and 40 minutes from Cologne
  • 50 metres from a leisure centre with spa, pool and beach garden
Rest and relaxation... or sports and activities? The team at this North Rhine-Westphalia site is proud to be in a locale for the lot... and within easy driving distance of both Bonn and Cologne should you then seek a city day. Camping im Siebengebirge is in the Siebengebirge, the cluster of over 40 ancient volcanic hills that includes the Ölberg, a top spot for hiking. By car, it's 15 minutes' drive from the city of Königswinter on the right bank of the Rhine, and a respective 30 and 40 minutes' drive from Bonn and Cologne. (For utter ease, it's only a few minutes' drive from the A3 too.) This colourful, peaceful and well-maintained space has pretty grounds and plenty of space, and is within a couple of minutes' walk of Saunapark Siebengebirge, a spa and leisure centre with a pool, a beach garden, a restaurant and massage and wellness treatments. Cycling and fishing are easy to access in the area, along with pony rides and carriage rides if you fancy something a little different. If you'd rather relax and sup on site, the Camping im Siebengebirge team will happily grill steaks, venison sausages, fried potatoes and more at the barbecue area; ask for details when you arrive. There's a bread and drinks service on site too, and a shop for supplies 600 metres away. Camping im Siebengebirge also has a playground, toilets and showers, a washing-up area and chemical disposal.

Local attractions

There's plenty to do within easy reach, whether you want to explore the surrounding countryside by foot or bike, go city sightseeing, or submerge yourself in a pool or spa. The 40 to 50 hills of the Siebengebirge make up a green and pleasant land around the site for hiking, much of it now covered by the protected area of the Sieben Hills Nature Park. The most popular hiking hill is also the highest, the Ölberg or Großer Ölberg at 460 metres; reward your clambering self at the summit with a sit down and a bite in the restaurant, among handsome Siebengebirge and High Eifel scenery. Also recommended are the butterfly garden at Bendorf and the zoos at Neuwied and Cologne, all within 40 minutes' drive, and the river castle of Drachenfels half an hour from the site in the direction of Bonn.
