Bell tent

Liked: We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Perfect location. The site is very peaceful, lots of open space for kids to play, a park and the owners even put up an inflatable assault course which my boys loved. Breakfast was amazing- owners couldn't do enough for us and went out of their way to make our weekend enjoyable. It is like an enchanted village of a night with all the fairy lights. It was a clear night when we stayed so we were able to stargaze- perfect location for this as no light pollution- we were even lucky enough to spot a barn owl. My boys gave this site a 10/10. We would definitely return.

Disliked: Didn't dislike anything just a couple of suggestions; Even though parking was close and a small walk I would suggest wheelbarrows for taking stuff from car to tents again not necessary would just ne a nice to have. Also we didn't like the coffee for £3.50 we found it expensive for an instant coffee. Again all suggestions we had the best time and I wouldn't hesitate to book.

Bell tent

Liked: Beautiful location and lovely welcoming hosts, were really made to feel like part of the family. Clean showers and washing up area. Kids loved the play area. The old goat bar was fantastic with the wood burner and some pretty awesome food at reasonable prices. Breakfast especially was yummy. We stayed in the bell tents, they were beautifully presented and spacious even with 5 of us sharing.

Disliked: The weather sucked although that isn't on the hosts lol, this did mean we couldn't cook our own food or make coffee, this was the only down point, not having a covered area to use our own cooking facilities at a safe distance from the tents.

Bell tent

Liked: Had the most amazing experience at Country View Camping! Was totally shocked how luxurious our glamping experience was. The crew went above and beyond. Supplied us with an Alexa, power bank and even helped us set up a fire for the kids for marshmallow roasting. They have a lovely breakfast cafe in the morning and great coffee too! Communal shower and toilets that were sparkling clean! You could not beat a family experience like this. Can’t wait to book our next glamping trip with them!

Local attractions

A bag of feed will allow you to get up close and personal with some of the more greedy residents at Fairfield Animal Centre (15 minutes’ drive). Here you can also take alpacas and goats for a walk around the grounds, or help the keepers groom and feed the donkeys. The large play area includes wooden climbing structures. Among the National Trust properties in the vicinity are Westwood Manor (20 minutes) and Prior Park Landscape Garden (35 minutes). The former dates from the late 15th century and is popular for its garden, with a lily pond and topiary hedges. The latter, in a valley near Bath, is a Georgian park dotted with follies such as the elegant Palladian Bridge. A terrace adorned with Victorian-era statues of ancient emperors overlooks the sunken Roman Baths in Bath (40 minutes). A museum displays artefacts unearthed on site, including a bronze head of the goddess Minerva and thousands of silver coins, part of the Beau Street Hoard.
