Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Garris Farm is one place that I'd definitely recommend to those that want somewhere decent to camp and enjoy the surroundings, Nicola who's runs it always goes above and beyond to give visitors a good stay, the amenities are better than most places and for the price you get real value, This place is a gem to stay at when exploring Southern Cornwall,

Disliked: How can you dislike anything here, For the price I think you'd find it hard to pick fault with anything.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Beautiful view overlooking Penzance bay to st Michael’s Mount.

Disliked: We didn’t see any staff at all. This site looks as though it maybe improving.2 showers being painted. No washbasins as such, only one sink for everything, hand washing, dish washing. At the moment only very basic.

Local attractions

Dig up a little of Cornwall’s past… it’s easy to do so from this campsite. The Chysauster Ancient Village (roughly half an hour's walk) was full of farmers 2000 years ago, but now, you’ll get to look around the remaining village street, courtyard and thatched rooms. Then, make way to Marazion for St Michael's Mount (15 minutes' drive), where the tidal causeway leads the way to an old fortress… picnics on the front lawn, shopping or just learning the tales of the past make for a history-full afternoon out. Geevor Tin Mine (25 minutes) opens up the past Cornish copper mining history, but when you’re done with learning about history, there’s the Tate St Ives (15 minutes) for those art fans among you or the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (10 minutes) for finely-fashioned exotic and sub-tropical gardens, an art gallery and sculpture garden. Off to other horizons… Penzance (10 minutes) is the place to go for ferries to the Isles of Scilly, while Mousehole (20 minutes) is a traditional fishing village and Land's End (30 minutes) has shopping and splendid scenery on the most southerly point in England.
