  • Pop-up site in the village of Breage, just off the A394
  • Porthleven and Praa Sands five minutes' drive away
  • At the foot of Tregonning Hill; on a main bus route for easy outings
What a handy location this is for getting out to explore Cornwall: not only is Trevena Cross Camping and Glamping strategically placed just off the A394, it’s also on the main Penzance to Helston bus route for easy outings by public transport. Not that it’s all about getting off site: the place itself is rather lovely too, set back from the road, surrounded by agricultural land and at the foot of Tregonning Hill (climbs of which are rewarded with fine views across west Cornwall to both north and south coasts). The pitching area takes up four and a half acres of a seven-acre plot, with guests able to pick their own pitch and numbers limited to ensure plenty of space for all. Facilities are also splendid. There is a eco-friendly composting toilet with a sink unit and a gas shower, all created by a local company from cedar. There’s free parking on site too (although in wet weather you’ll be asked to keep travel through the fields to a minimum). Dogs are welcome to take a break here too, but you’ll need to keep them on a lead, clean up after them and generally be mindful of other guests and the livestock in neighbouring fields. Those aiming to see Cornwall on foot should be pleased to note that there are plenty of countryside walks around, and lots of lovely coastal spots close by too (Praa Sands and Porthleven are both a couple of miles away, and linked by the South West Coast Path). It’s also an easy five-minute amble to Breage village centre for a top-notch pub, a couple of play areas, a post office/shop and a popular garden centre with a fab café.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: This campsite was far enough away from the road that you couldn’t hear traffic. The owner who lives next door was absolutely lovely! Shelter from the wind with hedges. Very basic but we like basic! Portable shower which we loved but could see why many wouldn’t. Also very close to a lovely local pub which we adored!! With fantastic food! All in all good for the price

Disliked: Not a problem for us as we’re camping for a couple months and living on a budget. But most wouldn’t have liked the basic lay out and portaloo toilet/shower system.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Good location, very close to some of the top sightseeings in Cornwall (Like Minack Theatre, St. Michaels Mount, Lands End, St Ives) Great value for the money, it was very cheap and basic at the same time, it was perfect for us as we were travelling every day to visit different places.

Disliked: We were missing fireplace, dedicated place for BBQ, There are no open fires allowed, on the field. Portable basic 1x shower and 2x toilets placed on the site was very basic, although hot water was always available on the site. Not the best for nice experience an view on site.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The toilets and shower was very clean and the washing up facilities, although basic, were all you needed and there was access to fresh water too. There was also an honesty wheelbarrow filled with yummy and essential items to buy whilst we were there…lovely idea. Also a great area for the kids to play in with toys provided. The location of the site was fantastic for local beaches and places to visit. Great little site 😁
