  • Peaceful 40-acre Suffolk campsite with secluded woodland pitches
  • Aldeburgh 25 minutes' drive; Lowestoft 40 minutes
  • A mile and a half from the village shop and tea rooms
Goodwins Farm is a peaceful 40-acre site set in a quiet agricultural area near the Suffolk village of Peasenhall. The site is located about a mile and a half from the village centre, where there is a shop, a butcher's, a church and a tea rooms. Guests here also have access to a great network of paths that crisscross the local countryside, plus cycle routes along the coast just a short distance away to the east. The facilities here include a unisex composting toilet, an outdoor washing-up sink, a unisex indoor toilet, a unisex indoor shower and the use of a freezer and fridge. The farm has firepits to hire with free firewood that you're welcome to forage from the forest floor, plus communal tables, chairs and a barbecue for sharing. Goodwins Farm is family-friendly, but as there are two ponds on site (and livestock), it's important that all children are properly supervised throughout their time here. The site staff recommend bringing a torch, sturdy shoes and insect repellent to make the most out of this off-grid location.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked: Beautiful campsite very quiet and peaceful would of stayed longer but long travel back. Highly recommend this basic campsite. Shower and wash facilities were great. The owner and mother were very lovely and helpful. Daughter loved the chicken

Disliked: Only one negative was the bins which they did not have a fully recycling system for waste.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we are glad you appreciated the campsite, thank you for your comment regarding the recycling we are aware this is something we need to address, we stopped taking rubbish last year after it was abused by some guests, I spent a lot of time sorting through other peoples rubbish, I found this upsetting so felt it was better to say I don`t take rubbish! We try to be as ecological as possible here so we need to think again about the rubbish policy!! We hope you had a safe journey home. Zoe

Primitive grass tent campsite (two person)

Liked: Clean quiet site. Shower, 2 x toilets, fridge, freezer, fireplace & wash up basins. All the basics covered well. Friendly owners greeting us & coming round next day to make sure everything is OK. Nice walks nearby. Good attractions within 30 mins for kids (Camal Park oasis, Southwold maize maze, Southwold beach and pier, Deben leisure centre with inflatable course in pool or visit replica viking ship or the Old Mill around the corner etc). With so little light pollution the sky is stunning at night too compared to in my hometown. Would return again.
