  • Touring park a couple of minutes' drive from Skegness beach
  • Spacious family-friendly site; pets welcome too
  • Secure site with well-equipped touring pitches
Set up back in 2016 on open farmland just on the outskirts of Lincolnshire seaside capital Skegness: if you want busy and seaside town days along with days among green Lincolnshire countryside, petite and clean Skegness Fields is a well-placed pick. Pitches are hardstanding ones for tourers and motorhomes, and come with electric hook-up and a water point. The smart facilities include a swish shower and toilet block, washing-up area and chemical disposal. As it's a family-friendly site, Skegness Fields has plenty of room for kids to roam and grownups to relax; it's a safely-kept site too, with a fully secure barrier entry system. The sands of Skegness are a couple of minutes' drive, a leisurely stroll or a quick bus ride away.

Liked: Facilities are good.... toilet and shower block

Disliked: They put us on pitch 65, 20meters from a busy main Road feeding Skegness. All that separated us was a double farm gate and an open public right of way. No security or cameras. People coming and going all the time, any one could use the facility's if they wished and nothing to stop a small child from entering the busy main Road. We didn't get a hour's sleep the first night. The next morning we asked if we could be moved to a quieter pitch... there were about 6 that we counted. We were told that they were all booked up, so we had no option but stay on the noisy unsecured pitch. Next morning these pitches were still unoccupied. I think the reason for this is that they would have had to give us another electric token. They are more interested in selling these tokens. The Internet is really bad, couldn't even make a phone call on all major networks. There are signal boosters on the lamp post's. We asked if we could buy some data on their WiFi. The answer was no it's only for the static Caravans and not the tourers. I had my scooter on my scooter rack and was worried during all our stay about the security of it so close to the road. That is the reason we booked the site for £85.00 to feel safe. We spoke to our neighbours and felt the same way and would never use this site again. I will never use this site again myself.

Liked: Very clean facilities. Warm welcome by the lady on reception who explained everything clearly and in detail. Pitches were level and spacious. Clean and quiet site especially on an evening. Close to Skegness town is Walkable in 30 minutes and flat. 2 pubs nearby and local to small shopping complex.

Disliked: No motorhome point but it’s nothing that would spoil your stay.

FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked: The site is extremely spacious and our fully serviced pitch was well set out and almost completely level. WiFi is really strong as there are repeater poles on each field. Bus stop just outside of the main gates with regular buses to Skegness.

Disliked: There is no real recreational facilities on the site but that’s not what we look for so no great loss there for us.

Local attractions

Wander, take the car, or get the bus that stops just across the road from Skegness Fields to seaside town Skegness for days of coast and sand. The beach, sea and pier will likely be many folks' first stops (probably followed by a bag of hot fish and chips or an ice cream on the sands), but do take time too to get to the town's other top attractions, like the Natureland Seal Sanctuary and the fab and wild Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve just outside the centre. From Skegness, travel along the coast to Ingoldmells for a knuckle-tightening time at Fantasy Island, the mammoth amusement park with the world’s longest suspended rollercoaster and Europe’s longest looping rollercoaster. (A mammoth indoor market is also in town to totter to if you need to soothe yourself afterwards.) Other options around the sea and Lincolnshire are trips further along the coast to Sutton on Sea, Mablethorpe and on to Saltfleet, and inland to the walks and bike rides of the flat Wolds, or staggering under the weight of piles of newly purchased produce at Lincolnshire's market towns like Louth, Alford and Horncastle.
