  • Small fishing and farm site on the England/Wales border
  • In a peaceful scenic setting among old oak trees and Neolithic stones
  • Close to Go Ape and the Forest of Dean
Settle in for an afternoon's fishing and look out for wildlife like deer, rabbits and birds, all in a lovely Welsh/English border locale among old oak trees and Neolithic stones… welcome to Broadstone Park. This is a small and family-run site between the market towns of Monmouth and Coleford, named after those Neolithic stones and in an area with plenty of options for walking, cycling and other outdoorsy activities. A small spring-fed fly fishery is on site for guests' use, stocked with carp, rudd, perch and bream and open daily from dawn to dusk. Facilities at Broadstone Park include a newly added toilet and shower block and a small camp shop selling local produce groceries such as free-range eggs, burgers and sausages: all sorts of fab things to sizzle up on a campfire…

Liked: The site is lovely with lots of space and in an amazing location. The owners are very friendly and could not be more welcoming. They sell the most gorgeous homemade pizzas in the quirky hut.

Disliked: Nothing. Perfect for us.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Ideal location for Forest of Dean and local towns. Plenty to do. Lovely campsite with pay as you use electric hook up. Friendly staff, very welcoming. Little farm on site for a walk around, small park for children, log burners for higher, bar area with food available for purchase. Clean toilets and showers which is always important. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Liked: Very friendly and warm welcome. Toilet and shower block very clean. A variety of rescue animals to see in particular Brian the alpaca who watches over the ducks and chickens and keeps them safe from Mr Fox. Also, some fishing ponds to walk round. Power optional grass campsite

Liked: We’ve just arrived home from a few days at Broadstone; it was our first stay but it certainly won’t be our last! The staff were all extremely friendly and welcomed our young children (age 3 and 5) having a lovely chat with them in bar in the evenings, there was a little park for them to play in, it was very spacious, and our children loved seeing the animals. The bar was amazing (as were the delicious pizzas) and it had such a great vibe. It’s set in such a beautiful location and so close to a variety of mountain biking trails (the reason we were visiting). We also liked the electric “pay for what you use” system. Lots of great facilities; large toilet/shower block, dishwashers, lots of water points, free wifi in the bar. The list could go on and on. Thank you so much to everyone that made our stay so fantastic and we can’t wait to come back again!

Disliked: Absolutely nothing.

Local attractions

Straight from the rear of the site are several woodland walks, one of which takes guests past the Broad Stone after which Broadstone Park was named. Others cover part of Offa's Dyke and walks to Monmouth, the River Wye and local viewpoints like famed Symonds Yat: ask the site team for their faves to follow. Also in the area are heritage options like Caldicot Castle and the Clearwell Caves, and the buildings and pleasure grounds of the Kymin, highly praised by one Admiral Nelson (take the trek up to the Round House for the best views). Many other walks, cycle paths and swinging around in the trees at Go Ape are in the Forest of Dean, easily accessible from the site, and both Monmouth and Coleford are around 15 minutes' drive away for more urbanised days out.
