Liked: The open fire is the main reason we booked this site and it didn’t disappoint. Plenty of firewood available. Toilets were nice and clean, showers available too but the water pressure was low. Pet and child friendly. You will see some 🐑 and 🐐 running around but it’s nothing to worry about. They are people friendly 😁. The site could arrange more rubbish disposal points. No wifi available. Getting in and out of the site was a bit difficult but I’m sure Frankie will sort the very bumpy road. If you can’t be bothered with cooking, there’s a great pub within walking minutes. Overall it was a great site and will definitely book again.
Disliked: The road getting in and out was terrible but I’m sure it will get sorted. If you drive a low clearance car you will definitely scrape the bottom.

Liked: Dog friendly 2 night stay, really beautiful place, basic no frill camping. Would stay here again and recommend. Highlights; - no check in (we just turned up and set up camp, no one needed to check us in etc) - choose your own plot - unlimited space per plot (we took a 3 man tent plus a tarp) - scenic/quiet - camp fire and dog friendly - free roaming sheep/alpacas (very friendly, kept to themselves, didn’t invade tents etc but lovely to see walking around) - located close to town/garden centres and pubs - woodland walk at the bottom of the campsite - very clean and modern toilet/shower block
Disliked: - Ants nest litter the ground so just be mindful where pitching tents. - Be cautious of the road leading up to the campsite as rough loose terrain (I think it was a stream at one point), we were fine in a ford focus but just note to take it steady. Not sure how accessible it would be in rain. This is a very basic simple camp site which I love and will specifically look for however, if you want more structured camping with dedicated plots etc this isn’t the one. Sleep and alpacas roam so not ideal for reactive dogs who are likely to bark at them
