  • Peaceful, cosy and fully-equipped shepherd's hut in a wildlife haven
  • Surrounded by woodland, streams and river with its own private garden
  • Spectacular sunsets and stargazing 25 minutes from the coast
Mosey along to Carmarthenshire to say a merry hi to Morris. And make plenty of time too for the many – many – things to see and do around this part of west Wales: you can be out and about here for weeks. Morris The Shepherd's Hut is a comfy and cosy hut half a mile from Gelliwen, among lush wooded scenery surrounded by woodland, streams and a river. It's fully equipped for self-catering stays, with a kitchen and dining area, outdoor seating, a multi-fuel burner, a shower and toilet, and a bedroom with double bed and electric blanket. Also at your disposal is a private, secluded garden with an arbour, seating, a barbecue, a picnic bench and a bee and butterfly box. The site is a wildlife haven, with owl boxes dotted around (keep an eye out for the resident tawny owl), buzzards, red kites and sparrowhawks soaring above, foxes and rabbits in the local lanes – the very keen of eye might see otters in the river too… Bring your camera along, as this is a region of spectacular sunsets and clear stargazing nights, where the Plough and the Milky Way shine brightly overhead and where shooting stars are regularly visible. Around the area, Morris is 25 to 45 minutes from seaside resorts and beaches, in a land of riverside and woodland walks, wildlife parks and local chocolate and cheese factories, all about 45 minutes' drive from Swansea. Car parking is available on site. For the essentials, a cashpoint is at St Clears, 10 minutes' drive away, and cosy cottage pubs are at Meidrim and Trelech, five and 10 minutes away.
