Liked: We had the best stay at Knotlow Farm. The location is great with 2 pubs easily in walking distance. We spent one day over in Buxton, and the second day in Bakewell. The facilities at the site were the best I’ve seen for a long time, the toilets were always clean and the showers were the same. The staff were so helpful, and we were able to hire a fire pit which really took the edge off the chillier May evenings. We have already said we cannot wait to return for our next stay!

Liked: Good facilities, particularly clean toilets and showers even though it was muddy in the fields, family bathroom facility is a good idea, as is playing field near the family field. Availability of water points, as well as bins, including for recycling and waste coal and indoor washing up area. Ability to choose your own pitch and plenty of space in the camping fields. Small shop selling essential items, firepit hire and pizza available, although didn’t use them. Drinks and snacks vending machines available overnight also good, especially given there’s not a lot of options in the area. Friendly and accommodating staff. Well located for walking and exploring the area. A very good pub serving pizza within walking distance.
Disliked: No mobile signal on some networks, intermittent on others, but to be expected for the area. Noisy children running around very late on the first night, which wasn’t great given we chose the site because it’s supposed to be quiet and no noise after 10pm; fortunately this wasn’t repeated so maybe a one-off. Despite the site having a playing field, there were also children cycling round the car park and toilet block. Not many flat pitches.

Liked: Very friendly & helpful owners. Lovely walks from the campsite, so I didn’t move my car while I stayed there. Very clean facilities
Disliked: Needed to pick pitch carefully as a lot of them were on quite a slope, but it is the Peak District.

Liked: Love this farm based camping site it had everything I needed and more. Very good toilet/shower/washing up facilities. Staff always helpful and friendly. Great food available if needed. Close to lovely walks and short drive to Buxton or Bakewell if you need a 'retail' fix. Lots different pitching areas depending on if you prefer a quieter area or somewhere for the kids to run around and enjoy the open spaces. Good phone signal if you cannot live without it, me I only used for updating family and friends of all I was doing which as a solo traveller gives peace of mind to all. Would 100% recommend Knotlow Farm for the ultimate countryside stay.
Disliked: Nothing.
