The site is situated perfectly, we had our older children and dog and being within walking distance of Kennack Sands was perfect. We stayed in a static, which was stocked amply with the core basics and clear notice given about bringing bed linen (duvets and pillows are provided you just need to bring covers and sheets). The Pizza takeaway wasn’t open but we knew this before we booked as it clearly states this. Some reviews I’ve seen I feel are quite unfair as this has been a sticking point… maybe read properly and don’t leave unfair reviews. The shop was not open all the time but all you had to call was the number on the door (owner lives on site). Really happy overall. Site is huge, walking areas for dog and showers which take 50p (only one shower in static) so with 5 of us this was great 🥰

Pathways are rather rocky so not suitable for mobility issues as I struggled and couldn’t use my mobility scooter on the pathways so had to drive the car back and forth the toilets/showers

No marquee/bar as advertised disappointing so we Spent our evenings down on another campsite where they had food and entertainment
No shop open - had to ring a number each time you needed something so ended up just going to Sainsbury’s instead.
Pizza place closed until end of July.
We Wish the above points were advertised as closed at time of booking because we wouldn’t have stayed here.
Campsite is on a slope luckily we pitched on a flat enough surface on the outskirts of the field.

Maybe advertise your season times when things are open because it will stop people being disappointed when they click these facilities at time of booking to then find they are closed.

During our low periods it is not viable to operate all our toilet and shower blocks facilities as this would be firstly excessive and very expensive. However all toilet and shower blocks are within 60 second walk from each so no great distance between all them.
The launderette is priced accordingly at £4.50 per wash and the driers at 10p per minute These charges attract VAT once this Government tax is removed then the costs for a wash are £3.60 and drying is 8 pence per minute with electricity charges increased by 300% this facility actually costs us more than we make when all the other charges are factored in.
Showers are not free to Chycarne and much as to be considered. The charge was introduced to prevent overstay in the shower and reduce the amount of water consumed It is extremely rare that any body is left waiting for a shower unlike the numerous other campsites that claim that the showers are free when they factor in the costs in the price for camping. We opt not to do this. On average a 5 minute shower costs around £0.60 pence per shower to Chycarne. There are so many other factors to consider such as gas, electricity, cleaning maintenance and VAT and then that water needs to be cleaned before it is discharged and that is super expensive as we do not benefit from mains sewer and have to maintain a waste water treatment plant.
The Marquee bar is NOT advertised as you suggest and was removed for this year as we are unable to staff the facility adequately. Equally we have seen a big change in the way in which visitors spend their evenings and they tend not to use facilities such as the marquee bar and opt to spend their time in around their pitch with their own alcohol and food which we get. It seems pointless to provide an expensive facility not to be used enough to warrant the cost to operate it however there is a off licence at the shop
The shop/reception at Chycarne is a small operation and barely wipes its feet to operate, (This is why so many small campsites do not operate any kind of shop) The business rates makes it virtually impossible to break even but it is in our opinion essential to provide some think but it is not a Tesco or Sainsburys so during quite periods we operate it on a request basis as to keep the staffing and running costs to a minimum.
Yes the pizzeria is closed during quiet periods as there simply is no demand during these periods for this facility given maybe one or two pizza's per night. Unfortunately we can not operate this facility and we have in the past tried but with no success. However all the facilities will be open as is advertise during our peak period.
All of this information is clearly advertised and can not understand why you suggest otherwise.
The campsite as a mix of both level and some pitches on a gentle slope but this did not in any way effect you.
Waste collection is perform on a weekly basis and this is out of our control. Unfortunately or fortunately the hotter the weather can cause the waste in side the bins to smell
We have more than enough waste bins on site but unfortunately and its a common problem that everybody wants to place their rubbish in to the same bin once the ground staff are aware that a bin may be overflowing they will attend and rectify the problem but this issue is only temporary.

It’s far enough away from any big towns so if you’re after a bit more of a rural site then this one’s for you. We’ve been twice now and I’d happily go back every year. The owner is very friendly and always happy to help.

We arrived at 2pm as requested, nothing was open, no shop, no take away, no bar etc. This was not obvious on booking. We walked to the nearest pub, it didn’t serve food, we walked to another bar at another site, they didn’t serve food either. We had set up the van and didn’t want to drive so we literally ate crisps nuts and yoghurt for dinner.
I guess everything is open in the school holidays but we avoid that time as places are so busy.
Disappointing.

不喜欢： All the show blocks near to our pitch where closed had to keep going to the main block. The industrial waste bins where over flowing and the rubbish in them had been there weeks if not months and smelt disgusting. The site shop was closed and never opened at all and if you needed to use the facilities you had to pay with tokens but you had to phone the site to get them. There was no interaction with any members of staff infact we didn't see any staff at all on the site. Tried calling the owner mail box was full couldn't leave a message sent a text it was never read shame really x
Loved the campsite. Clean and well maintained, shower and toilet …

Thank you for your recent visit
Chycarne holiday park is a small family independent static caravan and campsite. During our peak period ( Whitsun and school summer holidays ) we are able to operate all our facilities such as the pizzeria take away and the onsite shop and all of the three shower and toilet blocks are open but during much quieter periods these facilities are restricted. This is advertised however we operate the reception and shop on request. Keeping costs low and to a minimum is essential to any business in these very challenging times where costs have spiralled out of control.
Whilst we do understand your point that nothing is open that is not strictly true. On one final point we do expect a certain respect and consideration on the property that you have hired and do not expect the property to be left in a dreadful condition as you left it. If we were able to cast a score on you UNFORTUNATELY we are unable to do so
