We booked a hard standing with EHU at Kirkby Lonsdale RUFC and told to arrive between 3 - 5 pm. On arrival at 3:15pm on a match day, we were warmly greeted by a rugby club representative at this lovely scenic location. He apologised for the cars parked on the allocated hard standing areas and suggested that we squeeze our motorhome between a caravan and another motorhome, leaving about 6-8 feet clearance each side (hardly room to set up two chairs) and reposition after the game had finished and the cars had gone. We were told that we could empty our toilet waste at the far end of the playing fields, approximately 300 yards away. There was no mention of a fresh water supply or a grey water waste drain, nor any evidence of them on a walk about. There was no problem for the EHU.
Such a shame. This location, as a stop-over, has great potential but needs a more profession approach towards its customers, especially at £30 per pitch per night for what is basically, a car park. We did not stop. Fortunately, a nearby campsite was able to accommodate us at short notice.

Views , electric,town centre very close,lakes quite close ,devils bridge close,lots of pubs though some are very boring in my opinion but some good shops👍

Mucky changing rooms used on Sunday morning by rugby teams😅 and dirty toilets,some noisey selfish campers playing loud music in large family groups who think they own the site, very hard to find toilet waste disposal,fresh water taps quite a walk away

What a shamble’s this place is, we called ahead to say we would be 5 mins late
17:05 Voice mail stated that he was out of the country on the 31st of August.
Went on there web site, found that it stated the site was closed from the 31st August
We had booked a grass electric pitch only to find the only one available was in the middle of a friend’s, family pissup. It was only just passed 5pm. No way would they move for us . Am sure it states no groups , loud music, . It looked like they knew the owner had left and it was a free for all . We left and found another site just up the road .

lovely views and pretty clean facilities. Short walk into the town with plenty of places for food and drink.

There was a party on the night we stayed which we were not made aware of when we checked in. The music carried on until 12am and was pretty loud. There were also some groups of pretty drunk young men having arguments in the car park which is next to the entrance to the facilities which worried my 13 year old daughter and i was a little wary of going up there alone after it turned dark. We also spoke to a couple who had stayed the night prior to our arrival and they said there was loud music and shouting going on until 2am from one the tents on site - so possibly not a place to come to if you like your sleep!
I would think carefully about staying again, which is a shame as the location is spectatular.

The only thing we liked was being able to have a camp fire, This kept the teenagers entertained for an hour

The shower facilities were dirty.
Wasn’t told in booking there was a private function so couldn’t use the bar.
Horrid smell from the leaking drains.
No security, this was needed due to a family fighting we had to stay in out tent!

Nothing

looked so crowded and disorganised we didn't stay, but moved straight on. Initial reaction - OMG - didn't even register our arrival (couldn't find anyone!)
