There nothing to dislike everything was spot on

It was clean and very family friendly.

The microwave was broken when we arrived, so we had to venture out for food. Then there was a power cut for the majority of the day, then later that evening when we queued for a pizza on the site we were told they had sold out as a group of DOEs who were staying for 1 night had bought them all.

Done 4 night here lovely place brilliant views clean and organised would stay again

The site was spacious so we didn’t feel at all overcrowded and there was plenty of room to park as well. The views are lovely. The common room was a brilliant space to hang out in wet weather, and was well equipped with a kettle, microwave, fridge and freezer, as well as spaces to cook with our stove. There were plenty of fire pits available too. The toilet and shower facilities were good - showers were hot and powerful and I didn’t have to queue at all. Overall we had a great stay and I think it was good value for what’s provided.

Great site, excellent value. Loved the communal room, a real bonus, especially on a wet weekend. The facilities were well thought out and always clean. The fields were not overcrowded and had great views (we were on the non-riverside area; the riverside pitches are gorgeous but quite far from the facilities). Felt quiet and remote, despite being just a few minutes off the A66. Nice playground for kids too. Wifi in the communal area, but poor signal on site (to be expected given location).

Showers were the ones where you have to re-press the button every so often, which is fine generally, but these went off every 10 seconds so needed re-pushing very often.
Some people might not like the signs around the place reminding people to clean up after themselves but it's only common courtesy and the place was always neat and clean.

The facilities were great, kettles, toasters, microwave, multiple sinks, spaces to cook undercover, large fridge and freezer, sofa, tv, tables and chairs. Clean, owners were friendly. Close to 2 towns, good items in little shop. Stunning scenery and wonderful being on a working farm. Children slept like logs with all the fresh, clean air!

Being right next to the children’s play area was awful. I’m a teacher and needed to relax after a long and tiring term. It was so noisy on our pitch, early in the morning until late at night with the constant sound of children screaming. We were also right next door to the communal area and the noise from that was also constant. I would not recommend being on pitch 19. Road noise at night but nothing ear plugs couldn’t fix.

Very friendly helpful staff. This is our 3rd visit to Gill Head Farm, we have pitched in different locations on the site each time, all come with outstanding views & are very well kept. Toilets & showers warm & clean. Park for the kids. Pizza available on site on certain days, this was new to us this year & a fantastic addition (highly recommend as the pizzas were delicious). Dog friendly. Perfect location for walks & days out, whilst being just far enough away from the hustle & bustle of Keswick. The whole family really loves this campsite, it just has a very warm welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be returning in the future.
