Beautiful site, lovely cafe and nice walk to a great pub

Could do with a few more showers

Location

Facilities were a long walk from the campsite. Not many of them for the amount of pitches

Place was clean & tidy,Friendly lady on reception. Easy to find passed through some pretty villages site out in the countryside.
Enjoyed watching the parachutists coming down from the local Airfield.

Trying to find our pitch was quite confusing the electric hook up were supposed to be numbered but they weren't.
Large group of School Children descended on the site Friday afternoon afternoon who were noisy during there stay luckily they left early Saturday morning.
Couldn't find the washing up facilities someone helped us find them. Hot water on the Friday night none at all on the Saturday so had to wash our dishes & pots etc in cold water.
Shower /Toilet Block was quite messy on Friday night with grass all over the floors.
Duck / Geese droppings all over the field.
Ongoing Building works but not at the weekend.

Beautiful location

Unhelpful, disinterested staff, poor facilities (no hot water for washing up, no Wi-Fi)

easy arrival, pitches are always well look after and spaced out well. plenty of space for the kids to play and feels safe so they can play freely also the walks around there are lovely. Facilities are well kept and the people are reception are helpful if you were to need anything.

Second time we've stayed here. Unfortunately as same as before with cleanliness. The shower block is not cleaned properly. We both went for showers at lunchtime ,straight after they had been cleaned. But fell well below standard. I still think unisex doesn't work .

Very friendly staff both on the phone and in person. We had to make a last minute booking as our preferred site had to close due to waterlogged pitches. We booked 7 pitches for family members Friday to Sunday in tents, caravan and campervans and then had more family visit us for a BBQ on the Saturday. A very lovely, spacious site in easy walking distance of the village and local pub, close to a river and steam railway. The only downside was the facilities block was quite a walk from the pitches (not ideal if you need to visit urgently or in the night) and sadly the facilities are rather tired looking and not as clean as I would have liked for the price paid. There is also some building works going on at the site so noise and mud to contend with on our visit in May.
I would return for the site but won't because of the facilities.

Beautiful canal/lakeside location. Great toilet and shower facilities, which were very clean. The lady at reception was super friendly and helpful and gave us directions to a great local pub! Lovely surprise was the little cafe which we didn’t know was there and we were able to have a much needed coffee and some delicious homemade cake when we arrived. Was very quiet when we stayed as it was a weeknight. Fab location. Also dog friendly and there is a dedicated dog walking field.

Being able to set up a hour early due to bad weather forecast

Have camped here many times but this time will be our last. Our stay was over the Coronation Bank Holiday Weekend on a non service pitch at £30 a night.
Camp site has gone down hill, what used to be a pleasant camping experience over many years is now no longer.
For the first time we was given a pitch number which was right to the back of the camping field away from the toilet block, washing up facilities and the drinking water supply. All though not ideal it was no big problem.
The problems began with the state of the toilet and shower blocks. Shower rooms was the worst I've ever come across in my 30years of camping. Floors sagged and was so dirty with grass, soil, toilet roll and sanitary items we just couldn't use them. Toilets were blocked, blood was on toilet seats and the smell was unbearable. There was no toilet rolls in any of the cubicles or bathrooms.
We did ring reception who said that the toilets and the bathrooms would be cleaned at some stage that day. They was eventually cleaned around 5 pm and toilet roll was replenished.
When you have a 5yr old with you all this was not acceptable.
The camping field is right next to what I can only describe as a building site with noisy machinery where they are adding new mobile homes to the site.
The camping field is plotted out with small stakes.. which is a accident waiting to happen...

We were part of a larger group and there was plenty of space
