Great site, in wild camping, meant we weren't on top of one another, great activities

Toilets were clean but just old and neglected in wild camping, I know it's reflected in the price but they need some tlc

Using the wild camping area and being able to choose where & how you pitched up! Brilliant facilities lots of fresh water pumps.

Only 1 pot washing area which was a 15 minute walk from the wild camping but suppose that makes it ‘wild’. No biggie, nothing a kettle and bucket doesn’t solve :)

Lots of open space, nice for families and a safe place for children. Top end very quiet

The activity selection if your kids are old enough. Staff were friendly. Especially at the lake. It has such potential with a bit of funding it could really be something amazing.

Activity locations unclear. A map would help. Age restrictions not made clear when booking so my 2 youngest kids couldn’t do anything, defeated the objective of me booking there. No park or anything else for them. They were bored a lot so of day trips off the campsite had to take place. Lana was the only staff member who was disinterested. Was stood there on her phone actively ignoring my child when she needed help taking off her harness. I had to ask her if she worked there. Shower room wasn’t bad. Didn’t use the toilet block. Flys everywhere! That can’t be helped but just be aware.

The closeness to the amenities. Daughter enjoyed the activities. Blue Peter badge holder. I've knocked the facilities and activities down this time as I think more options could be explored when young children are on site and cleanliness of toilets and showers.

All staff on site very helpful and courteous.
Bar very clean and good choice of food and drink options.

The pool attendant that was organising people in and out of the pool on Saturday did a fabulous job.

Location lots of places to go from site. Rufford, Clumber, Clipstone. Sherwood Observatory. Newark castle and Civil war museum.

Take out menu left on tables in the bar at night, although we didn't choose this option nice to have this perhaps this should be given at the reception at check in.

Toilets and shower areas need regularly cleaning hourly!!

No BBQs or campfires on this weekend however we took a gas fire and fake flickering fire to give the same camping experience temperature dropped quite significantly. In this case make more things available on display like your blankets, lights a gas fire option perhaps? Or even the nice wooden lanterns you have to paint for kids. Make features of what you have got available.

Think the large white tent on the camping side A could be used for cooler nights when camp fires can't be used perhaps just a small seating area quiet somewhere away from the karaoke to relax.

Shop could stock a lot more items i came one year when you had some lovely necklaces and bracelets. I gave my daughter as tan extra stocking filler for xmas.

No jigsaws. No reading books other than the history on Walesby and only colouring books for children. What about nature books, sticker books word searches or crossword books.

Nice to see some inflatables in the shop for the pool. We took our own a rubber ring donut but nice to see other options available perhaps advertised this at the pool entrance as a young boy was upset it was too deep so my daughter let him have our rubber ring.

Unfortunately one family not us and I hope they raise this they were not happy on the Sunday they had a boy and girl aged 5 and only two activities open for them to do Cave Maze and Low ropes perhaps they should be free if only two things open. The parents then had to purchase two archery sets in the shop.

Friendly helpful staff, didn’t realise we had booked non electric and Katherine made it very easy for us to move and made us feel very comfortable. Beautiful big grounds with lots to see when walking. Loved staying in field E as felt we were away from the hustle and bustle. Very quiet at night, felt secure as saw security doing their rounds.

The lack of toilet facilities, so apart from the fact they were so far away there wasn’t enough to cater for the amount of people. One group had electric motor bikes and they just kept riding them all around the fields which was very annoying, so we were surprised that was allowed. The food is advertised as open until 19:00 but closes at 18:30 so couldn’t get any at 18:40 when we went which niggled us as just acting on the information given.

The pitch sizes are great, water in showers is hot. We had electric hook up which was great although £10ish a day is a lot for this.
WiFi is available in the main hub area but otherwise signal around the whole site is very limited.

Loved having access to the fire barrels and lots of wood available around the place to collect up and burn - the kids loved the unexpected marshmallow toasting! You just take what you need - we shared with pitch next to us.

Was much quieter in all respects during the weekdays - see the dislike!

The range of activities available is great (does have negative to this) and the staff running things were all so lovely and friendly (only 1 negative encounter)

There were a lot of families and the kids loved making friends. We had a tyre swing near our pitch and lots of space for games which was brilliant for all the kids to play together.

Despite the negatives - we will definitely be back again!! We had a great times and have made some amazing memories.

There was no information about the requirement for closed toe shoes for the water sports before arriving at the site so disappointed children resulting in a need to drive and find suitable shoes! Lots of people being turned away having walked 15-20mins to the lake!

The activity wrist bands is a bit of an issue and heard lots of others with little ones saying the same thing - can’t do any activities until they turn 5 and then often limited to 2-3 activities each day whilst older ones pay the same cost yet can do 6-7 activities. Think this needs looking at really but at same time - the cost of the bands for all the activities available is great and we certainly made use of everything we could (once we had shoes 😂!)

The weekends were very busy with ‘groups/families’ who just turned up, got drunk and loud, lots of swearing/loud music/unpleasant kids running riot at all hours. We did have site security out a couple of times to deal with things but credit where it’s due they were trying - shame they didn’t kick people out in the night though as kids just continued to be extremely unpleasant around the site to other campers/activity staff/property.

Bathrooms could do with a clean later in the day during really busy times but otherwise during the week were great. Swimming pool shower area really needs an overhaul.

Swimming sessions very limited - only 20 in at a time and only 30min sessions. Pool is freezing but you do acclimatise 😅 I’d recommend a wetsuit for little ones.
