Not nearly enough showers or toilets. Showers cut off half way through leaving you covered in shampoo or soap. Taps were quite a distance away and I don't think there was a toilet waste disposal.
Felt like we were really roughing it.

The facilities were clean most of the time and the pitch was very spacious. The woman who checked us in was lovely !

The atmosphere in the bar was odd and the people working in there made it awkward by staring at customers from the corner. The beer prices are high so definitely recommend drinking your own stuff. The music can be heard from the other end of the field so don’t be expecting to talk to your friends when it’s playing!

We were lucky to stay during bank holidays and we loved the live band. My kids really enjoyed playing in the sandpit and the views were absolutely stunning.

Showers. Facilities were exceptionally clean but only one shower can be used at a time. After I covered my hair and body with soap there was no water coming in anymore as the other was in use and had to use the sink to wash it all off.

Everything about the site is excellent, staff are super friendly and all facilities are kept clean.

What a fabulous place, from first arriving at the racecourse retreat we fell in love with it. The team that run it couldn’t do enough for us. All of them were chatty and friendly and very welcoming!
We stayed over the bank holiday weekend and they had arranged entertainment for the whole weekend from a great quiz, a cracking band and a film night all with access to a little onsite bar!

The toilets and showers are some on the best we have seen on a campsite, clean and always topped up with toilet roll, hand wash and paper towels!
The fire pits and bags of woods are a nice little touch and just adds to the camping experience!
The sandpit is big with plenty of room for children to play with ease, and we felt happy and that we could see our children safely from our tents!

It’s a fab location far away from things but close enough to have a little day out of you wanted too.

We can’t wait to come back next year! 🏕️

This is our 4th visit to the racecourse and we were very pleasantly surprised with the new toilet/shower block. The team have done a fabulous job, they made our bank holiday weekend and we will definitely be returning, hopefully every year!

Everything was great.
Even though there were lots of campers over the bank holiday weekend, there was plenty of room between pitches.
The scenery was beautiful.
I was very impressed with the facilities, there were 3 unisex and 1 ladies toilet aswell as 3 shower rooms which also had toilets in.
They were clean every time I used them.
A nice added extra was the kids movie on Sunday afternoon.
I will definitely be booking to go again.

Staff were friendly. The live music was a nice surprise. The shower block was decent and generally clean. Beautiful views and less than a 30 minute walk into Wirksworth for some great pub food with the dogs.

No real dislikes, I think more showers and toilets would help as there was a constant queue to use the faculties.

Stunning views, friendly reception, firm ground under grass to prevent bogging or mud, divided sections for pitches

1. Loud band noise until after 11pm which I wasn't warned about when booking
2. Lack of showers and toilets for the number of people on the bank holiday weekend
3. Too expensive considering no EHU and lack of facilities

Great welcome and friendly atmosphere. The location is beautiful and only 15 minutes walk down to Wirksworth where you can find lovely pubs and quaint shops. Just remember you have to walk back up the hills!! Entertainment was a bonus that we were not expecting on an evening. Toilet and shower facilities were new and kept clean. Plenty of space to pitch up so you weren’t on top of each other. Plus the little beach was great for the kids.

None other than maybe could do with more toilet facilities when busy but it’s fine if you don’t mind the odd queue.
