The site is lovely, clean and safe. There is emphasis on keeping music low to be respectful of others which is standard. When we were told about low music, we wasn't told that a live Welsh rally, high powered, loud out of control cars would be having an event at midnight. The lane to the campsite was part of a rally event. If a car went out of control, it could of ended up on the campsite. There was no trees or barricades separating a car racing event from the public. I've lost the use of my right arm and struggle to walk because of driver negligence. Well my visit to the site faced my worst fears. Being out at risk of driver negligence. So because there was huge emphasis on us being quiet, zero information was given regarding this car rally and it's dangers or the noise it will create through the night, we won't be returning. Purely because no one felt the paying campers should be informed of something really loud and really dangerous. £25 for a pitch you cannot park your vehicle at is far too expensive. In the few hours in the evening we had it was lovely. Peaceful, scenic and quiet. Then we woke up camped on a divider at the 24 hr mans race

Loud noise from midnight till the early hours. No warning or information regarding the dangers

We arrived and were greeted by a very welcoming host. He showed us around and introduced us to the alpacas as we were staying in willow tent in their enclosure. He was present around the pub and site all evening speaking to guests, which was lovely. The site is extremely chilled, quiet, safe and friendly. My son loved us driving over the ford to take our belongings and it was great to be so close to the river, which in the camping area is shallow enough for my 10 year old to explore. He spent most of his time paddling as did the other children onsite. Beds were comfy, the alpacas were a real added bonus to the stay, especially when my son got to feed them and go get the owners when the naughty ones tried to escape. We took a walk round the trail which had some lovely facts about alpacas. We had some cold drinks and lovely pizzas from the pub (make sure you order before arrival on a Saturday of you want them). Everywhere was clean and well maintained. We got good phone/data reception from every part of the campsite on EE. This is an absolute gem of a campsite and my son is begging for us to go back!

The compost toilets are a little walk from the alpaca enclosure so it's best to take crocs for any late night trips to the loo.

Loved everything about it, Rich 12/10 customer service, stayed on the forest pitch, as close to wild camping I've found so far! Will be back!

Having been here before because of it's unique location with it's ford entering the campsite behind the pub. This was just a magic place to stay and would love to go back as the owners were very warm and welcoming and they provide a very nice food and drinks menu to the weary traveller. Great place for everyone and highly recommended!

With river being so close, there was lots of bugs and flies. Also, grass next to river could be trimmed to access or at least to be able to see it when camping

This really is a great little spot. The staff are super friendly and the pub very accommodating. We stayed overnight in our camper and enjoyed an evening meal in the pub. The river runs right next to the pitches and our little boy loved interacting with the alpacas. We would defiantly stay here again.

What a little hidden Gem this place is! A nice family run pub/camp site. Rich and Caroline were very friendly, informative and very very helpful!
Already booked our 2nd stay for next month we went as a couple but our next trip is with our little 1s! Everything is fairly priced from staying there to eating in the pub, do recommend booking a table once u there! Pizza night on Saturday is popular and they are so fresh, light and full of flavour (add your topping from their list, plenty of choice). Recommend the alpaca 🦙 tour if your not staying in the bell tents within their enclosure! Again these are any too. Hope this has helped you book with them, any questions pls ask and I'll do my best to answer them or you can get in contact with the proprietors themselves!
(Be aware once your away from the pub there is no phone signal, which is good for a break away from social media or the internet world, also there are no showers, but there is washing facilities (sink with hot/cold water). Also their toilets are composting which is a brilliant idea and I must say they do NOT stink which is strange but good!! ) Have a enjoyable stay if you book. Absolutely loved the way the owners engaged with us, the way Molly interacted with the children and helping them feed and walk the Alpacas. The food was great. Really lovely place.

Absolutely loved staying in the Willow tent with the Alpacas.
Rich was friendly, knowledgeable and introduced us to 'the boys' who were all very cute and inquisitive, we roamed around their habitat and know that they are very well looked after and happy. Lovely location by the river, which was nice to wake up to the sound of the river and birdsong, shame we arrived late in the evening and had to leave early the next day, could definitely spend a lot of time there to relax and just enjoy the surroundings.

Lacking in shower facilities which was no bother to us as we only stayed 1 night but longer stays might struggle, I knew this before booking and it didn't put me off at all.

What is not to like? Lovely, friendly welcoming and an awesome fford to drive across to get to the tent sites!
The river location was lovely and the wooded area kept the children entertained for hours.
Added bonus of the pub with some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten!
It is also located about 5min walk away to a football pitch and mini adventure trail, bonus!
The toilet is a compost toilet, which actually once you’ve used to it, is just a toilet, my children thought it was cool!
