Friendly staff, pitches, under trees, heated shower block, lots of hot water, walkable into Buxton (don't follow their instructions, use the road)

There's two male showers and two male toilets but one of each was out of action for my stay. Timed showers ok (£1=6mins) but instructions wrong (it's clockwise to turn on, not anti)

One side is very pretty, fields etc.

Next to industrial estate - can see this from campsite.
Really poor road coming to the campsite, lots of massive potholes which are unavoidable.
Not really any pitches, no hardpack under grass so vehicles got stuck.
Benches need a good scrub, lots of moss and dirt over them.
Paying for shower - i’ve already paid £20 to camp?! Why am i then paying again to use a shower!!
Very bizarre chap running the place, quite awkward, not sure if he’s trying to make jokes, but left us feeling uncomfortable

Woodland and wildlife

Grass pitches , unfortunately a lot of rain had fallen , not owners fault, however very boggy .
The long access road to the site was heavily pot holed and even at a very slow speed made for a very bouncy ride , may be more unpleasant for those towing a caravan.
Individual showers were very small and little in way of hanging clothes in order to stay dry or place shower toiletries.
I think to be fair showers ought to be free , given the size and lack of space and being charged for electric too .

Good little site amongst the trees. Although as new Motorhome owners we went a little too far off the path and got stuck in the mud, but a big thank you to the owner for coming to our rescue with his tractor to pull us out.

Accessed via an industrial estate which was ok, but if you are pitched a certain way you overlook a factory.

If you like back to basics this place is ideal. Set in trees all around, we were greeted by the friendly owner who showed us to our pitch.
Set in the trees, with ehu and water. Shower block was close to hand , but never used as we are self sufficient.
We had a lovely relaxing weekend.

The owners were very friendly.

There were a couple of issues for us and reasons why we left a day early:
We appreciate it was February and the ground was wet and soft, however we struggled getting our campervan on the grass, we skidded at one point, which made us uncomfortable about driving away from our awning the next day - so we didn't and left to go home.
There were no hard standing pitches, or path ways to the facilities/pot washing.
The men's facilities were filthy, again we appreciate the weather wasn't great, but there's was nothing to clean the floor, whereas in the women's there was a mop and bucket, although the mop was filthy too - both sides could have done with checking more.
For what the site is, we found it very expensive, and then you had to pay for the showers on top, for us the site and facilities were not worth the money.
