I would only stay here if you're an avid hiker as there's great hiking and walking trails nearby Mam Tor being a 5 minute walk from the campsite. There is a lot of sheep and cows roaming around which I always think is cool! The facilities were clean overall and drinking water was available.

The views on the campsite aren't great. There's no reception at all unless you walk up to the entrance of the farm which is quite a walk, this made me anxious being a female only group. There's only 2 sockets on the entire site so good luck if you get the chance to use them. There is no washing up area. I had trouble driving on to the site itself as the road up is very narrow and practically impossible to get passed incoming vehicles so a lot of reversing had to be done and I have a pretty small car so this would be a nightmare for caravans etc. There is no recycling and everything is dumped in a huge skip which was overflowing.

Very nice field to pitch the tents and easy to drive on to. Remote but still close enough to Castleton and many walks nearby. Clean facilities

There's a sign saying check in at the farmhouse but no one was there. Also in the morning there was a collie type dog running free with no owner nearby, the dog stalked my dog and growled at her. I had to pick my dog up and shoo the other dog away before it escalated. My dog was on a lead and only growled to defend herself

Access to Castleton and surrounding area really easy on foot. Great walks from the campsite, no need to drive anywhere.
Loads of room to pitch up.

The campsite was well signposted and well laid out.
Facilities were clean and tidy and other campers were friendly and respectful.

Great location, gorgeous views. Little one enjoyed seeing famr animals.

Toilets weren't the best.

Brilliant location, lovely scenery and a great stay. All facilities we needed is basic though. Recommend for cheap affordable short camping holiday!

It is a nice active working farm...Good and level field
You can rent fire pits, buy wood and a Jacket potato trailer was in there over the bank holiday weekend . Showers and toilets are clean and regularly maintained. Mam tor on foot with 2x 5 years old a 7 and an 10 year old plus 4 adults easy walking speed. Abot an hour to the top! Caves and Castle are also few min drive...

The only problem we had is the wind....but we were there while the yellow storm alert was on. 😉

Not so much internet service available so do your research beforehand and do not expect a continuous streaming.... 🏕️

pitch where you want, good views, quite campsite. Owner was flixible with leaving time

but this is not really suitable for large caravans, entry and exit through the gate to to main road very very difficult as people park opposite and along side and it was impossible to get my twin axle through the final gate into the field without detaching moving it on the mover through and re-attaching.

Can be a bit windy.
