Quiet with very clean toilet block, plenty of space and attentive owners.

Grass not cut in main camping field and therefore extremely wet

Had a really nice stay here. it's very spacious and relaxed. Just about walkable from Chorley train station with loads of gear (there is a bus stop much nearer). Fantastic walking nearby. Great to have the option of a fire pit, in fact probably essential for me on Sunday night as I was completely soaked through including my only pair of shoes! Very friendly owners.

This is such a small thing, but the paper towels in the toilet ripped if you had wet hands and it was difficult to pull them out singly. Would probably save money overall to get better quality ones as I had to pull out a wad at a time which wasted a load.

Quiet, spacious site, not too crowded. Site is level, facilities are clean. Basic but nicely kept and within easy striking distance of Chorley on foot. Campsite team are super helpful and lovely, the information about finding the site and expectations is clear and comes in advance which made us feel really welcome.

Loved our one night getaway here. Beautiful evening watching the sunset by the fire. Peaceful surroundings with a few ponies for company. Silent night… best sleep for a long time bizarrely! Woke up to clear skies and a gorgeous sunrise. Owners were friendly and helpful and the Toilets are insta worthy and very clean. Thanks for a great stay, we will be back x

Stayed here originally for a Fri/Saturday night but enjoyed it so much I extended my stay to include the Sunday. Location is lovely and quiet, scenic and relaxing but not so out in the sticks that is it inconvenient. We were able to walk into town reasonably quickly (driving would take all of five minutes) to find pubs and shops. A short drive revealed a beautiful local country park and of course Rivington is just on the doorstep. For a quiet long weekend with the dog it is just perfect. The dog also loved her stay. And the evenings were so nice, the field lit up by the warm glow of everybody's firepits and just good vibes all around. Although it was busy on the Saturday it presented no problem as nobody was on top of each other. If you are looking for a simple, quiet, easy few days away look no further. WC facilities were also immaculate and Laurie is very friendly and helpful. Firepit and wood for hire delivered right to your tent/motor home for reasonable cost. Will likely return next season. Loved that the site is adults only. My dog is small and rather teddy bear like and often attracts children to my pitch in their droves at other sites. Dog loves it but gets a bit tedious when one is trying to relax and read etc. Here not an issue and adds to the quietness of the place.

Everything! The site was gorgeous, the bell tent we stayed in was beautiful and spacious, extremely clean and tidy, as were the site and facilities. We arrived quite late and hadn’t eaten so asked if there was anything to cook on as it was an impulse booking. The owners provided a fire pit and griddle to cook on, the tent was provided with lighting and furniture for storing clothes and essentials. Chairs inside and out are also provided so we were able to enjoy the beautiful sunset by the fire and relax inside later. The guests are well spaced out so not disturb each other and the toilets were immaculately clean. Definitely recommend booking the bell tent, we will be doing again!

The only suggestion would be a shower block for extended stays, everything else was perfect and the location is beautiful.

We had a blast staying at Primrose cottage camping! The toilet facilities were really clean, stocked and looked super cute! You drive on a pick your spot - we arrived around 5pm so were worried we wouldn’t be able to find a good place but there was plenty of space - no overcrowding whatsoever. We spent the night having a bbq by our tent and then stopped at the local pub for a few!

Only slight complaint was the noisy main road and a few noisy dogs but that’s not their fault and didn’t ruin anything!

Loved everything. It was absolutely perfect for us. Really peaceful.

We are local, only travelled 5 miles up the road but we could have been anywhere.
There are beautiful walks from the site! We bagged the perfect spot under an alder tree in a quiet corner. The neighbouring field had some gorgeous Shetland ponies!
We stayed 2 nights. The Friday night we walked up the canal to Top Lock pub then called at Malthouse on the way back for food.
Saturday we walked from our tent to White Coppice and up to Brinscall Woods and back then had tea at Lock and Quay (about 15 mins walk from site), they also do a lovely breakfast at weekends.

We didn't have our own firepit so we hired one from the site owners and spent the evening toasting marshmallows and looking up at the stars.

It was perfect and we can't wait to return!

Even the toilets are immaculate! I have crohns disease so always a bit worried about the loo situation when camping but I didn't need to be. Very clean and well stocked with toilet roll.

There is very slight noise from the M6 but it isn't intrusive, just white noise I stopped noticing it after a while. Not a problem.
