First time here came with 2 other couples with children who had been before. We didn't want to leave! Best campsite we have visited very good for children of all ages really! The rope swing over lake was good fun not just for the children but the immature grown ups like myself lol toilets was cleaned regular and never ran out of toilet rolls like some places we've visited. The campsite provided fireplace which was amazing. Everyone was really friendly from staff to fellow campers tried to book again for a couple of weeks but was fully booked so that says it all!

Loved it's relaxed vibe.. Took a friend's 8year old Autistic child and my 14 year old and a well behaved dog! Wonderful trip.. Discovered this lace before covid and is now a popular place to go! Love it!

Absolutely stunning setting!
The grounds are well maintained and there is plenty of room between tents. The stream was brilliant with the rope swing and zip wire across it. Fantastic to have a dip and a wander up and down stream although I highly suggest crocs or swim shoes as it’s very slippy. There are toys for the younger kids and swings and zip line to play on. You can sit in the sun and have a chat with the chickens that are very cute and vocal.
The cave bar is a must in the summer open 2pm-8pm if there’s enough staff. Bit expensive but nice all the same. Food was great and we had the family deal 2 pizza 2 chips chicken balls gravy and curry sauce for £33 which might seem expensive but I’d had enough of BBQS 🤣

Could really use some new toilets and showers as they are very dated.
Make sure you have footwear on at all times even in the shower as the floors are full of muddy water which is to be expected with kids and adults in and out of the water walking across fields. Be careful of the steps up to the toilets as these are quite steep especially for little ones or older people.
Not really a dislike more of an opinion…it is a more expensive site than others with better showers and toilets maybe put a portacabin or 2 in with more toilets and showers it would be more than worth the price they are asking.
The bins and skip were overflowing and bags of rubbish were all over the floor, maybe fence it off so it’s not as much of an eyesore.

There was different types of route swings throughout the site play area and even toys the children could borrow.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Old Vicarage, and it was a truly delightful experience. Nestled in a beautiful setting with a charming stream running through the site, this campground offers a serene escape for families and nature lovers alike.

**Amenities:** The site is well-equipped with most of what you need for a comfortable stay. There are toilets, showers, and a wash-up area, these facilities could benefit from an upgrade, especially as the site grows in popularity. There is a disabled toilet available on-site.
The availability of water and electric hook-ups was a great convenience, and we appreciated the fire pit for cozy evenings under the stars. The kids especially enjoyed the onsite toys and the play area, which kept them entertained throughout our stay. To top it all off, an ice cream van visits the site daily, which was a huge hit with both the kids and adults—a perfect treat on warm afternoons.

**Setting:** The natural beauty of the site is one of its standout features. The stream running through the campsite adds a peaceful ambiance, and our kids loved playing in the water—it was definitely a highlight for them. Bringing inflatables is a great idea for even more fun in the stream. The lush surroundings made it a perfect spot for relaxation, and we enjoyed taking in the picturesque views. The free-roaming chickens around the campsite were also a big hit with the kids—they loved watching them wander around! Plus, The Old Vicarage is dog-friendly, so our furry friend was able to join us in the fun, making it a complete family getaway.

**Atmosphere:** The atmosphere at The Old Vicarage was calm and family-friendly. The other campers were respectful in terms of noise, which made for a peaceful and restful environment. The bar on site was a nice touch, offering a place to unwind in the evening.

**Overall Experience:** Our time at The Old Vicarage was overwhelmingly positive. The combination of amenities, beautiful scenery, and a welcoming atmosphere made it a memorable trip. We would highly recommend this campsite to families, especially those with young children, as the facilities and natural features cater perfectly to their needs.

**Tip for Future Campers:** Bring some water shoes and inflatables for the kids—they won’t want to miss out on splashing around in the stream! And don't forget to save some change for the daily ice cream visit—it's a treat you won’t want to miss. Also, if you have a dog, this campsite is perfect for bringing them along.

We loved everything about the camp site the space we had the toilets clean and the river between us lots do for kids so we were very happy with the stay the only thing I’d say was because we we early they said that there was a 10 pound fee to pay but there was nothing sating that on there we’d site when we booked and most campsite let you on earlier than the time they said which was 2pm
That’s was the only down fall

There was no dislikes about the campsite

Fantastic location- our children loved the river and surroundings.
So peaceful and a great vibe.
Bathroom good.
Would definitely stay again but probably not in the lodge.

Accommodation was a bit tired. Bulbs missing and found rubbish behind sofa from previous bursts. Could benefit from a revamp.
BBQ was filthy so could not use.

Quaint little site with plenty to keep the kids entertained.
Will definitely be visiting again.
