The site is lovely with basic facilities. Staff friendly and helpful.

Electric hook up kept tripping leaving us without power for 50% of the time. Only 8 Amp but no real indication on what we could and could not plug in. Also no hot water in toilets or wash up facilities.

Loved the cabin was excellent had everything we needed and more!!
Beds were very comfy.
The lake was fun to play in for the kids.
Nice walks in the local area.

Could do with better ventilation - cos it was raining and winter couldn’t really leave windows open which you could potentially do in summer.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Old Vicarage at Elkesley over the Christmas holidays, and I must say it was an absolutely outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality.

The Old Vicarage itself is a stunning property, exuding charm and character at every turn. The rooms were beautifully decorated, with a perfect blend of traditional elegance and modern comforts. It truly felt like a home away from home, and we instantly felt relaxed and at ease.

What truly set our stay apart, however, was the exceptional service provided by Sophie and Sue. These two remarkable individuals went above and beyond to ensure that our time at the Old Vicarage was nothing short of fantastic. Not only were they attentive to our every need, but they also displayed a level of care and dedication that is truly rare to find.

One particular incident stands out in my mind, and it truly exemplifies the outstanding service we received. Upon checking out, we realised that we had left behind some valuable items. We were devastated, as these possessions held sentimental value for us. However, to our immense relief, Sophie and Sue had found them and promptly returned them to us. Their attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile left us feeling incredibly grateful and appreciative.

I cannot recommend the Old Vicarage at Elkesley enough for a memorable and delightful stay. The combination of the beautiful property, the warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the outstanding service provided by Sophie and Sue make it a truly exceptional destination. Whether you're looking for a relaxing getaway or a special holiday experience, the Old Vicarage is the perfect choice.

The whole location was beautiful, so much for the kids to do, busy but noise levels was so quiet it’s actually hard to believe. The on-site staff was so friendly, everything you could wish for was there! My boys enjoy gadgets and sulking in there bedrooms, but from the minute we pulled up we didn’t see them until they were hungry so it’s a 10/10 from us!

The site is beautiful, with beck running through gives it that little extra to slash in.

Big one for me was that the toilet facilities were shocking.
For the entire campsite- 2 toilets for females and 2 toilets for males. 1 shower for each.
Shower what freezing cold. I rang to mention that it was cold, a party member we were with spoke to someone to say it was freezing. Bit nothing was done, not even a note outside the shower to say something was wrong.
The facilities were not kept on top of, wet muddy floors, soap dispensers broken. Frequently running out of toilet roll.
The shower curtain is stained with mould and not hanging properly. Shower head holder is broken.
Cobweb everywhere.
During the night you can hear the traffic from the motorway.

Location was lovely , the kids played in the stream all day and on the rope swings , the cave was nice little boozer , the washing up station was really good touch

The showers just wouldn’t get warm which is a shame , and the washing up station didn’t have warm water

Everything about this site was fantastic; the staff, the amenities, the stream for children to play in, the play equipment, the cave bar, the views. There is nothing more we could have asked for and we will definitely be returning.
