We come here every year and absolutely love it. This year we got to bring our 1 year old who has never been before and he absolutely loved it. We will be coming again next year for sure. We cannot wait already!

Beautiful setting and very easy to get to.
Such a beautiful picturesque site, the stream (river) running through the grounds was amazing and the children had a great time playing in and out of the water. There is a park, inflatables and rope swings and lots of space for games and activities.
There is no worry about size of tents as pitches are not individually marked out.
Ideal place for exploring but a car is needed to get out and about as there is nothing locally within walking distance (no local shop or pub).

This was a group trip (5 family adults and 2 children) and our yearly summer trip. We had a really good time. Would I visit again?? Possibly! Mainly not because I like to try new sites, but also because of some of the “dislikes” below.

things that were disappointing, main one being we arrived 55 minutes early and spoke to a young man about setting up as I had had an accident when leaving home and needed to attend a&e. Was advised that we would have to pay a £10 fee. There was no pitch work on going or any maintenance so found that a bit harsh and decided to wait the 55 minutes. With half an hour to go, I really needed to be seen medically so explained the predicament and was charged (and paid) the £10 fee to set up “early”. I think this was maybe a little mean really given the circumstances but hey ho, it is what it is! Turned out I’d broken my wrist!!

As mentioned in many other posts, the facilities hugely let this place down- 2 ladies toilets and 1 shower for the whole site and same for the men! I hear that the facilities are to be upgraded during the winter- if that happens that will be much better!

The washing up facilities and fridges were good and free to use, shame some people can’t clean up after themselves- to try and wash your pots when people leave a clogged sink full of beans is a bit gross , but that’s not the owners fault, although I really do think that there should more supervision from staff ! Just a presence at times! One evening a member of my party had to txt the site staff to advise of some very roudy guests just behind us! Loud music, screaming, etc! The message wasn’t replied to until the next afternoon and no one was around to solve the issue- in the end we just had to ride it out! Maybe a quiet policy of 10pm like most other sites and a quick wander round from staff would be good??

Lastly and by no means the staffs problem at all- just a warning- the mosquitoes were horrendous- have lots of repellent ready!

Beautiful surroundings, lots for the kids to do, friendly staff and atmosphere, enjoyed that the pitches were not all in regimented lines like in other sites and were a bit more natural looking.

The facilities need some attention. Only 2 toilets in each of the mens/ladies toilets and 1 shower-just not enough for the number of guests. One light supplies all the light for the 2 toilets which in the mens didn't work for the 3 days we were there so toileting in the dark wasn't fun! They were not very clean either, if you only have 2 toilets they need cleaning regularly for the number of guests and that didn't seem to happen. The shower was less than relaxing, again quite dirty, temp and pressure okay but just felt like an afterthought. Finally there is only one sink for washing up on the whole site, having waited several times for queues to die down the water was at best luke warm and usually stone cold. It's a shame because the site is lovely but when the facilities are so poor it really makes you want to not come back. Sort them though and we'd be back with bells on.

Beautiful site, small which is ideal for keeping an eye on younger children and the stream and play area are ideal in good weather. I can see this would be a beautiful wedding venue. Fire pit hire and use of bbqs all over was a real bonus and the fire pits were excellent and staff brought these round and offered firewood etc and checked if everything was OK. Didn't feel we were rushed off on our last day either.

There was very little hot water for washing up, which is OK for a very short stay but not ideal after a bbq. The site needs more facilities, it may have been particularly busy when we stayed as the 1 shower and 2 toilets felt far too few and toilet paper ran out daily. Other campers also left a real mess and we felt as a result the cleaning regime needed to be increased as they felt very grubby. The light in one toilet wasn't working which meant our children felt unsafe using the toilets alone after dark and this wasn't repaired while we were staying. It was very mosquitoy as others have mentioned but that's to be expected for an area with water and you should be prepared for this. The ground was also very uneven but there were level pitches and this didn't present any issues for us, again I think would have benefitted from fewer visitors when we were there to maximise level pitching opportunities as there are no set pitches but I liked the freedom of choosing where to go as its a very picturesque site.

The whole experience was amazing second time visiting would definitely recommend.

We returned having had a wonderful time previously and it didn't disappoint. The site is set within lovely grounds which enables young children to explore and be at one with nature, taking advantage of the pretty clear stream that runs through the site.
The site is well maintained, rustic and in keeping with its rural and pleasant location. The owners are friendly and welcoming. I have no dislikes however it would be an advantage to have an additional area or sink as one sink didn't appear enough considering the amount of campers. We had another happy stay making memories and will certainly be back in the future.

Fabulous campsite! Such an idyllic setting, spending nights by the firepit and the kids having the time of their lives playing on the stream and on various rope swings! Will definitely be back!

The river. It was a natural playground for the kids. Absolutely fantastic.

The toilets could do with an upgrade. But they were ok.

Brilliant little site and great friendly staff how camping should be and not commercialised and about money making ! ( should of come in july but let us chang date at short notice ) will definitely go back .

More showers and toilets but I know more are being put in
