There was no reception or notice board about local walks, pubs etc
When the owner did appear the next day to check monies had been paid he was unwelcoming and quite rude.
The electric is poor tripping out easily as mentioned in many of the reviews.
I am more than happy to stay on very basic sites but expect this to be reflected in the price - I had just completed 3 weeks of camping around Scotland in superb sites with amazing facilities and none of them were as expensive as this one.

Sorry you feel our facilities are not sufficient, I have been and checked the shower curtains and can not find any mould! It does state on PitchUp that we are a self check in and we don't have a reception hence the very large board with site map and pitch layout with your name next to your pitch. Granted we don't have a notice board as yet though we are looking at installing one for next season. Once again it does state on pitchup that our hookups are 6 amp its up to you to look into what this will mean for your stay with us.

We do state on Pitchup and on your booking confirmation from ourselves that the hookups are currently 6 amp it is however up to our visitors to find out what this will mean for their stay especially if you need to run medical equipment. Camping/caravaning equipment will work fine only domestic/household electricals will have a problem.
You may have noticed next to the shower block is the new shower block being built ready for next year and for time being there is a second shower/toilet block at the other end of the site, failing that i'm sure most modern caravans/motorhome have a toilet in them.
I realise we are just a small farm based site but we are fully open regarding the facilities we offer including photos of the shower/toilet blocks, therefore I find your comment of having low standards offensive.

It is stated on pitchup that we do not have a reception on site hence the site plan board on which your pitch is clearly marked. We also state on pitchup and on your booking confirmation from ourselves that the hookups are currently only 6 amp, which if you are using proper camping/caravaning equipment rather than domestic household equipment would not be a problem. Sorry you found the owner rude as he was only trying to find the people who needed to pay and he sends his apologies.

Unfortunately we can not control the Highways Agency and when they choose to do repairs to Parkgate lane caused by the solar farm. Our facilities are listed on PitchUp as is the fact we only have 6 amp hookups at the moment, we had to reduce to amp age when we extended the size of the site from 5 to 20 pitches, when it became apparent our supply was not enough, (if you would like to contact me directly I can show you the £20K plus invoice to have this upgraded) which is due to happen later this month ready for next season.
We are a small rural site and our prices reflect to cost of running and maintaining this to a high standard, perhaps you would be more comfortable on a more commercial site.
