The pitches are spacious and had electric and grey water facilities. Access was straight forward and we were welcomed onsite by Sue, the landlady of the associated pub. The walks are superb from the site. We ate at the pub both days and had two fantastic dinners accompanied by superb choice of beers. Having the use of the clean pub toilet was great. The locals were all friendly and Sue and her staff made us feel very welcome. Ken Moon also visited on our pitch... see photo.

Dogs not very friendly- dogs are dogs and are prone to having squabbles amongst themselves. Nothing strange there. What does that have to do with a review meant for our Touring Site?
Had to clean before I used the toilet - one of the most consistent comments we get from nearly everyone is how clean and spotless our toilets are. They are cleaned daily early morning and late night. If you had the misfortune to use the toilet after someone else had made a mess without properly cleaning it is not a reason to complain to us but unfortunately for you this was clearly the case.
No hand towels- at some point these are always going to run out! We check accordingly and replenish when required. Why did you not ask? Instead you choose to leave a comment on a review - “pathetic”!
No food because we had to pre order- we don’t do frozen we don’t do microwave. All the food has to be pre ordered because it is all prepared and made fresh on the day. Again if you could have had the decency to ask we could have directed you to another pub 2 minutes around the corner. It would then have been an appropriate moment for us to explain about our food offer/service. I would also like to point out that the review is for the “touring site” and not the pub!
I can see that you scored 3/5 for accommodation. This score is for sites providing Lodges Glamping Pods Static Caravans etc. Might I suggest if the accommodation you came in deserves only a 3/5 ranking that you invest and upgrade to a newer/better Touring Caravan/ Campervan!
So let’s move onto the “worst thing seeing a bird of prey chained up in a shed”- my wife Sue is a qualified Lady Falconer and flies “Ken” on a very regular basis when in “season” meaning they can’t fly all year round. Ordinarily you would have seen him free flying but at the time of your visit we had literally just lost our eldest son aged just 39 in tragic circumstances. Our whole family was and still is in complete turmoil.
The “Mentor” that is guiding Sue through her Falconry journey advised her not to fly him in respect of the fact he (Ken) would pick up on the feelings and sadness that we are all feeling at this time causing too much confusion to the bird.
Might I advise that in future you have the decency to “grow a pair” and tackle the issues you have raised face to face instead of hiding behind an anonymous review on a keyboard - Karen Terry!
