Nice walks from location

Main shower room was freezing, no heating on and the showers were tepid so unable to shower. Had to use a bucket to wash in the van instead.
Shower room toilets filthy and no toilet roll so had to take our own.

Lovely picturesque location on a working farm in the hills outside Bakewell. Weather conditions were beautiful (heavy lying snow) but a little testing as some of the toilets/showers froze and wouldn’t work. However it didn’t damper our stay as we like a challenge. The field toilets are new and the main block near the farm house (bit of a walk) were older and a little dated but still adequate.
Hook up was only 6 amps but our hairdryer and blender still worked fine.
My only negative comment is that a little more attention to detail required, such as toilet rolls missing from the ladies and rubbish bins were full. I appreciate it’s a busy working farm but it would have been nice (considering the extreme weather conditions) for some one to pop round and just ask if we’re ok and or needed anything.
We booked for one night and stayed for two, more because we loved walking in the snow.
The local Bulls Head at Monyash (45/1hr walk through the spectacular Lathkill gorge) is a great pub with very good food.

Had a lovely walk to Monyash and had a lovely meal in The Bulls Head.

Getting stuck in the snow 😂 But Ed was an absolute legend and came and towed us out with his tractor 🚜

We not once saw the owners, a simple hello on at least one of the 3 nights we stayed would have been nice. Shower rooms cold, lukewarm warm water and filthy so much so we opted to wash in the van instead,
The first two nights the field was pitch black again so much so we couldn’t see to get to the toilet block , so for the amount they charge per night was very expensive in our opinion .We will not be staying there again

The pitch was great just right for our needs.
My grandson thought it was perfect as he just wanted to walk in the countryside & loved going out with his binoculars & his torch.
Will definitely go again.

The electricity supply on our pitch unfortunately was very poor. We were only receiving 4.5 amp, therefore, had to use our own gas for the heating otherwise the electricity tripped.

The peacefulness of the camp. Cleanliness of toilets etc were excellent.

Only 6 Amp electric supply.. so m/wave etc could not be used.
Shower block was a bit of a distance but were clean.

Contact free check-in. Quiet site. Good location for local walks and visits to towns/villages. Mostly Level pitches, did use our ramps but could have got away without them if spent time positioning the campervan.

Bathrooms need a deep clean. There were mushrooms growing in the showers. Sinks and tops didn't look like they had been cleaned for a while. Floor would be difficult to keep clean due to been on a farm but regular top ups of clean bucket water would also help. The new toilet blocks on the camping field needed a clean too.

Our first outing in our motorhome. Got 3 dogs. Superb setting. Plenty of space for the dogs. Great facilities. We are going back soon
