Loved the countryside setting. Panoramic views of the Golden Valley & very peaceful (apart from occasional traffic noise as the B4347 runs past the site). Lovely clean loos (1 male & 1 female) with plenty of loo rolls, liquid soap & paper towels plus baby changing area & free feminine hygiene products in the ladies which was very thoughtful. 2 unisex showers, again very clean & modern. Hot & cold outside taps & sink for drinking water & washing up. Plenty of recycling facilities on site. Friendly, helpful staff. On site restaurant & cider farm.

The field is small but is made even smaller because the top end has a steep slope which makes it unsuitable for pitching a tent or parking a campervan. It's a shame that the big field behind the farm couldn't be used as the campsite instead as it's flat & has better views. Not the fault of the site but it's worth noting that the public foothpath doesn't go to Abbey Dore so if you want to visit the Abbey you either have to walk on busy roads/country lanes or drive. Also, as it's a working farm, there were cows with their calves in some of the fields with public foothpaths running through them so we avoided these as we had our dog with us. We felt that the price was a bit high considering the limited facilities on offer ie no EHU, no Elsan disposal, no laundry facilities etc. We've paid less for sites in prime locations with these facilities. Maybe they could offer a discount on the pitch price if customers had a meal in the restaurant or vice versa? Nice for a stopover but if the weather was bad options would be limited on a longer stay.

Nice site for a stopover, probably best suited for tents as there’s nowhere to walk safely, (surrounding fields had cows with calves currently) so need to take a car to get anywhere. Showers looked great, only one toilet (per sex) but was lovely and clean, warm AND complimentary sanitary products for women, which came in VERY handy on my last day (thank you so much), hot and cold water available behind the restaurant, which looked lovely, but didn’t dine there.

I absolutely loved the sounds of nature, the chickens, ducks, turkeys and goats were really sweet and I enjoyed feeding them my scraps.

Truthfully, I do think it’s a little expensive. For example, paid the same price for a site in west wales, with electric hookup, private walkway to the town and coastline and more facilities. If there was an offer of say £5 pppn that you could have as discount at the restaurant, I may have been more inclined to dine there.

I did have relatively good signal with vodafone, which is important for me as a solo traveller.

Nice quiet site except for the animals. Just one night stopover .
Had a excellent meal in the dog friendly restaurant and all them home made ciders. Would definitely go again just for the food :)

A little soggy when we come to leave but the rain had a lot to do with that ;(
