Не понравилось: If you come in a van, you just find a spot in the pub car park unless grassy area is dry. There was a lot of noise from the road with heavy lorries passing by regularly and we had parked as far away from the road as possible. It may not bother everyone but a commercial fan unit at the back of the pub was running from 1am for a good few hours and as we were in the car park and not the grass we were closer to it. Pub toilets left open for us at night but door was propped open in view of the main road and there were no lights - a sensor light would have been a good idea, would make me feel more comfortable in the middle of the night! Just felt overall it was expensive (£18 plus we spent just over £30 at the pub) to stay in a car park when it is possible to stay in many pub car parks for free when you buy a meal. Didn’t see bins, water point or waste disposal but admittedly we didn’t ask. I think there are some dedicated facilities in a caravan but these were closed during our stay.
I find this review particularly frustrating as we had a phone call prior to arrival requesting info on parking and facilities . I fully explained at this time that the grass was very wet but you were welcome to try it on arrival and that the caravan was shut for 2 months to stop any pipes freezing . I also explained the position of the toilets and that there was hot/cold running water in there . At this point it was possible to have a full refund however you came and chose to park on the hard standing . Indeed others did park on the grass. The toilets are attached to the pub but the road shouldn't be an issue as there are lockable and closing doors. Im surprised that £48 for an overnight stay , drinks, main courses and coffee/tea is classed as overpriced . (Please remember that from that the VAT man has £10) making our overall gross takings £30! A little bit of realism and goodwill wouldn't go amiss in these hard times of trying to keep a vital community facility open in our rural setting

Не понравилось: The fact that the ‘campsite’ was closed which we weren’t told until we got there having already paid ( which we believe is the fault of Pitchup.com not the site) we ended up staying in the car park next to a skip we left after the first night! The hotel seemed to every nice when we ate in there and the staff were very nice too
The campsite wasn't closed but I think the confusion was that we asked that people didn't park vehicles on the grass as it was saturated due to the storms that particularly horrible weekend. The hardstanding does form part of the carpark however the area does park 30 cars so i'm sorry you felt you had to park next to the skip. Apologies that you didn't have the usually nice experience that most people have here
Thank for reviewing our little site . We do use the caravan for electric when wanted for charging etc but this I realise isn't quite the same !!
