Remote location, adults only so suited us. We had a pod which was great cosy and warm. Amazing walks with the dogs around the lake.

Can’t say the welcome was as warm as we would have liked, yes it was unfortunately a wet day and everywhere was a bit muddy we had paid extra for our dogs and the surprised “Oh are the dogs going to be in there” referring to the pod yes they were and yes we left the pod as clean as we found it.

We enjoyed using the communal hub - sitting on a comfy sofa and opportunity to chat with other campers - made for a really nice stay. Walks directly off the campsite too were lovely - wish we'd had more time to explore further.

The campsite is in a lovely area by the Colemere lake which you can walk around straight from the campsite. You are also able to walk into Ellesmere down the canal. Quiet and peaceful site which is why we choose an adults only. Loved the communal area as it had lots of thoughtful additions. Microwave, fridge and freezer, cutlery and plates, washing up area (in and outdoors) lots of seating, a TV and WiFi. The toilet block was clean.

The only reason for 4 stars is because we visited in early spring. The site is mainly grass and on different levels so isn't well equipped for wet weather as there were concerns about getting stuck in the mud (although we saw they did had a tractor for pulling you out). The toilet block was a bit chilly due to the type of building.
This site would be lovely in the summer.

The indoor area is fantastic, Dave and Ingrid were helpful and had ideas for some great places to visit. Facilities were fantastic the shower was hot and always clean.

Loved the place, super clean, the Shepherd's hut super cute and neat. The outside areas all landscaped and green, really nice set up, communal room was quirky and with country motived decorations. Accesses are rather easy, and has fairly close restaurants and cafes etc..we were fortunate to have a magnificent night sky we watched from the porch. Really neat! Absolutely worth the visit..

Not a dislike so much but the price could include logs, or/and bedding.. Could have some comfort biscuits and coffees..bathroom way too far.. 😬😬😬Little things over the big picture.

We were welcomed with smiles & an an excellent briefing sheet showing us the delights of the surrounding area. The site is very pretty, quiet and beautifully appointed with a communal room with kettle, microwave, toaster, wifi & lots of comfortable seating. Loads of hot water & showers worked well. We were advised to move our van upto a higher point just in case the rains came which was very thoughtful. Loved our first 2 nights in our new to us campervan.
