A great campsite with a little shop that has all the toiletries you may forget. A quick, easy, friendly check in and situated next to a lovely lake walk.

The facilities could have been cleaner. We arrived at 12.30 and we were told the toilets would be closed for a deep clean between 12 and 2. I went to use them at 1.45 expecting them to be clean but they weren't, particularly the sinks.

We liked it the castle was great

To crowded and the pond was not well maintained, the bathrooms where not the cleanest but how I said it was crowded

Lovely little site. Enjoyed a long weekend. Great views. Kids played hours on the camping field. Lots of space between caravans and tents

On our stay the toilets backed up. Not great signal

Amazing site, didn’t expect much apart from a plot on a field as the price was so low, arrived to a warm welcoming assistant who provided a map of the area, we then put the tent up ( plenty of space ). We then go to the toilet to find it had showers and built in hair dryers!!! Was very clean no rubbish as plenty of bins provided! This was mine and my partners first time camping and needless to say it is something we are going to be doing a lot more going forward and I put that down to our experience we had on this camp site! WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

Great amenities.
Beautiful location and nice walk by the lake. View of castle and lake is beautiful from the bottom of the over flow field.
Quiet in the over flow field, lots of space (unallocated pitches gave you more freedom).
Friendly staff.

Down side for a young family was there is no park. (So you just need to remember your ball/swing ball etc).

Staff are very helpful, amazing areas to walk and see and so peaceful. Shower block is very handy with having washer machines and they now have a little shop which is very useful.

Complete dead zone for internet.
No matter where I walked on the site no internet, so it made it difficult to look what was around activity wise or book anything.

The location was superb and pitch just great. Really friendly staff and great for dogs . Will certainly return.

Only issue I had was with Castle Howard itself across the lake which on the weekend held some kind of event which resulted in very loud noise, hardly music,being blasted out until 2am in the morning. The site did warn us that the Castle was closed for 2 days to visitors but clearly didn't know music was going to be played loud until the early hours of the morning. Also very disappointed with the lack of food options and times some pubs stopped serving food in an evening in the town 5 miles away in Molton. The rave reviews about it being food heaven certainly was clearly a wind up. The town itself was lovely.
