Layout of the site. We liked that the pitches were around the edge of a field with the play park in the centre. Pitches were level. Toilet block was mostly clean. Never had to queue for toilet or shower. Short walk from pitches to bins, water and toilets. Friendly site. Quiet, no road noise or noise from other campers late at night

Some noise from the rail line but quickly got used to it. Had to pay £1 for 5 min shower. Not great when showering kids and having to keep an eye on clock. Cubicles could easily be made bigger for this too. Struggled with lack of space for drying/dressing. Having a bench/chair inside the cubicle would have been very useful. Small issues overall though, didn't spoil our weekend.

Really enjoyed our stay at Carney Pools will definitely be visiting again soon, kids loved it here.

This site was spotlessly clean, the shower block and toilets were extremely clean too. The site is secure with a coded gated which shuts every evening. Short walk to Cannock chase, canal towpath and local pub which is very dog friendly.

It isn’t really a dislike but you are close to the rail track so can hear trains go by but you soon get used to it and don’t even realise they’re going by.

The site was very well maintained and the shower facilities were great. The pitch was level and I liked the rural setting.

The railway line is close by but I didn’t really notice the noise from my pitch. It certainly didn’t keep me awake!

Nothing to complain about! Some might not appreciate a railway 100m away but it didn’t bother us

Good location with cannock chase right on the doorstep, great fishing pools with little shop.

The shower/toilet blocks are very clean and of great quality. The showers are £1 for 5 minutes use but they are the best showers Iv ever used on a campsite so didn’t mind the charge. The kids play area is a good size and right in the middle of the camping field so it was really easy to keep an eye on my kids as they played. The grass is well kept and pitch size are good too.

Electric tripped easily as it’s only 10amp. Other campsites at this price have 16amp. This isn’t a problem but it’s the only negative Iv got.

The playground was great for the children and not largely noted on the website. The fishing ponds would be ideal for a camping fishing trip. It was 10 mins from Cannock Chase, ideal for biking and running. Friendly and helpful staff.

Rail engineering works which woke us through the night with metal on metal hammering and power-tooling. Also didn’t like having to pay for the showers, noting the price of a non electric pitch is higher than average.

Totally last minute get away before back to school for kids (13/10/7) absolutely cracking site, clean facilities and staff were great not to mention the bar and food they had on all weekend would definitely come back camping here amazing. The daughter and the dad that were working all weekend couldn’t do enough for us ! Thank you for a great weekend

This campsite was just brilliant :) couldn't fault anything.
The couple that owned it were the loveliest campsite owners I've experienced, nothing was too much trouble and they made me and my friends feel so welcome.
They had a marquee, bar, food and live music on when we stayed and it was all brilliant :) the hog roast was spot on.
Also the toilets etc were so clean...they are cleaned several times throughout the day which is great as clean facilities is a massive thing for me, was really impressed how much they cared about the site and the people staying there.

My children weren't with me on this trip but as a mum aswell, I would definitely stay here with my children. The park is right in the middle of the field which is so much better than most sites where you can't see it from your tent or its down a road.

We also had a day fishing which was lovely...the ponds are all really well looked after and maintained and we caught loads of fish :)

Genuinely can't think of anything that I disliked about our stay
