We loved our stay here! The staff were really helpful and accommodating. Farm shop is great and has everything there if you have forgotten anything (like we did).

Great views. Location. Farm shop. Fires allowed. Friendly hosts. Pub 10 mins down the road and walking distance to the Roaches. Clean well stocked toilets.
Listen to the various wild fowl on the lakes.

Water-logged ground and vehicle tracks. Congested parking due to poor weather. I appreciate the host cannot be held responsible for the weather but probably need to look into larger hard standing for vehicles due to the change in our weather patterns

We only stayed there for a weekend but it was nice.

The toilets were constantly clogged and the flushers did not work in our field.
One main thing we don't like is the fishing ban and that's one of the reasons we chose this place. After arrival, we received information that fishing was not allowed, but there was no information on the website. The most annoying thing was that someone else was fishing throughout our stay. If there is one rule for one person, it should apply to everyone.

Friendly staff who ensured we felt welcome. The shop was well stocked. They went the extra mile for my clumsy requests.

Shame there weren’t ground rules for the youngsters partying past 12am next to us

Noise, noise, noise.
Bank holiday weekend so I guess it was busier than usual but in my opinion, just too many groups of people there just to get pi**ed up, play music till late and generally not give a sh*t about others on the site.
Usually campsites operate a rule of keep noise to a minimum after a certain time but not here unfortunately.

Toilets/facilities are bare bones basic too.

We booked months in advance for a camper, arrived to an unpassable water logged field. While I accept the site is not responsible for weather, I don't accept no call to warn. They tried to pitch us on the boggy field, having realised we would get stuck offered us some gravel but would need to move at 4pm that day! Was told I should have booked a large pitch. I booked via pitch up staring campervan & measurements of said van.
We waited 45 minutes to reach some conclusion given it was a Bank Holiday weekend to then be issued a refund minus pitchup deposit., even though we booked weeks in advance. Pre warning field was flooded would have been the polite thing to do prior to us having a wasted journey.
My advice if there has been rain do not waste your time.

Lovely field, friendly owner, amazing farm shop and clean facilities surrounded by gorgeous views! Waking up to cows in the field next to us was lovely! A gem of a place to stay!

Spectacular location, the views, lake, sunset and sunrises. You couldn’t have picked a more budget friendly place to stay. This is a working farm, walking up to all those animals, the farm shop, lake and beautiful views, is all worth it.

Can’t fault the people running it, they’re so kind, caring and accommodating in every way. The farm shop is a must.

If you want back to basic, with a view, peace and back to nature, then this is the place. Plus close to everything. Pub 10 mins walk down the road, The Roaches in front of you to wake up to 😊
