Some nice touches in the toilet block eg shelf over the sink so there was space to put things. Lovely wooden scuptures around the site eg, a stack of books reflecting proximity to Hay-on-Wye and a bird of prey for the local birdlife. The site manager, Alan, was friendly and helpful and took time to chat (and to fuss the dogs) The views from the site are stunning and we were able to watch Buzzards and Red Kites from our pitch. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing. We stayed on a pitch with an electric hook up but took a look at the camping in the meadow. It was very well thought out with pitch areas mown but the meadow grasses left to grow in between pitches.

Hi Helen. Thank you for you kind review, we are very proud of Borders and love to hear the great experiences our guests have had, and we'll be working hard over the winter to make more improvements. We chose the "wild camp" option, which is a non-serviced pitch. It was perfect for us. The rest of the campsite is immaculate. The toilet and shower block are kept clean and tidy; recycling centre to the side. Plenty of bins, both general rubbish and dog poop bins. They are keen on conservation and alongside the recycling, have an orchard, herb garden and bee hives. A small tourist info point is a nice touch, where you can also charge small electrical items. We will happily return.
