Our booking with Pitch-Up was a nightmare !!!
We made our booking only a few days prior to our arrival date, therefore we had to pay the full amount due, £255
We were due to arrive at ‘Beacon Fell View’ on Tuesday the 4th of November’25’ I received a telephone call from ‘Beacon Fell View’ on Saturday the 1st of November telling me that the park was closed therefore we would NOT be able to take our stay with them ! This of course was very upsetting and distressing, as my wife had booked time off work to be able to take a break in our motorhome.
I immediately made a telephone call to the booking agent (Pitch-Up.com) My call was received by an automated answering service telling me that their offices were indeed closed until the coming Monday ! One day before our stay with Beacon Fell View was due to begin !
Yet again I immediately called BFV to ask for my refund but unfortunately the young receptionist informed me that Pitch-Up would be the ones to make the refund ! The weekend came and went so I called Pitch-Up to gain my refund but I was told by them that BFV would be the ones to make the refund and indeed looking at my bank account the payment of £255 was paid to BFV. I called BFV yet again only to be told by the receptionist that senior management are the only ones able to deal with refunds 😡 and there was no one available at that time and that as soon as a manager is available I would receive a call from them ! You might guess,,, no such call was forthcoming. I called back, chasing my money ! “Ho” I was told,, “Sorry but it will be dealt with immediately” NO,, it was not and after a further hour or so I called back yet again only!! This time I actually spoke with the manager at 4.40pm (5pm close) “So sorry” I was told “I will do it right away” I pointed out the time and that I knew that they closed at 5pm. The manager promised that the refund would be done immediately and before closing at 5pm You guessed it !! N O it would NOT Tuesday morning arrived ! The day that we were due to arrive for our stay at ‘Beacon Fell View’ You’d never guess, but I received a call from BFV to advise me that the park was closed so “Please don’t turn up for your stay with us as we are closed” 😡 I informed the lady of my displeasure and asked ‘AGAIN’ for my refund. She told me that she would make sure that it was done immediately!!! N O it was not immediately at all ! I called back AGAIN only to be told that the refund of my £255 had been done but that “Refunds can take longer than payments to process” 😡 In fact “A few days”
I’m sure that who ever reads this Saga is very bored with it by now !
I received my refund into my bank account on the Friday of that week !
A DISGUSTING TURN OF EVENTS ! SO MANY LIRS TOLD BY SO MANY ! ESPECIALLY THE MANAGER OF BECON GELL VIEW
