Clean showers and toilets , entertainment and facilities were good and clean

The pitch we stayed on was on a slope so was a bit awkward to level things up

Friendly staff. Clean toilets. Nice food in restaurant. Swimming pool was nice and quiet with very friendly life guard, however, you had to book before hand on the and only had an hour slot. Nice view of the sea from top pitches.

Pitches were all on slopes. The site was on a hill. Field was boggy and the hedges between pitches were all brambles. Pitches were a fair distance away from any of the amenities. Unable to let kids go to the park unattended due to distance. Only 1 chemical toilet which was quite a way from top pitches. Glad we wasn't camping as only 2 toilet blocks next to each other and the 1 shut throughout the night.

Bathrooms not cleaned enough so can appear unclean at times and the activities should be bookable as per swimming ie can only book for the following day not in advance as most were booked up and half the time the classes were not full. Parking rules were not adhered to so the grass was a mud bath which resulted in unclean shared areas

Staff were polite and helpful especially the camping team

Everything about the campsite was pretty awful!
Terrible roads for pushchairs, toilet and shower block too far away, food was awful, entertainment was shocking, arcade was a disgrace and a rip off with 20% not working and shop poorly stocked

Lovely staff, very helpful.
Clubhouse was great, good selection of activities ie. mini golf, arcade, swimming, bingo, music nights.
Tent pitch and hard standing good size.
Decent well stocked shop.

Tent pitches were very far away from the facilities (one facility block that was closest to the tents wasn’t open at all) no toilet tents allowed either.
Some things very dated particularly the swimming pool, pool table, air hockey and the ticket machine in the arcade didn’t work.

Our review of Widemouth Bay Caravan Park

We are a family of 5 with a 6, 4 and 1 year old children. We initially chose Widemouth Bay because of its proximity to the beach and its offer of rainy day activities, such as swimming and kids clubs.

The kids activities certainly didn’t disappoint. We weren’t blessed with good weather, so we made use of a lot of the activities on offer. The stripey’s we are extremely enthusiastic and ridiculously hard-working girls. They worked relentlessly the entire duration of our stay from morning until night. Well done girls for keeping enthusiasm going.

We were slightly disappointed by the pool facilities. The water wasn’t warm enough for our young children and just to be picky… the bins provided poolside didn’t except nappies. I wouldn’t have put soiled nappies in these bins, but I’m not sure where else I was supposed to put a swim nappy once it had been used…??

The park and the football field were great, just what my children needed to burn off some energy when it was dry.

At check-in we were allocated a pitch that already contained somebody else’s tent. We then went back to reception are very uneven (and in need of repair) road back to reception to inform them of this, having called them several times to save us the journey. No answer on either land land or mobile number.

We were then allocated another pitch which looked derelict. Fortunately, I checked the electricity supply before we set up the tent. To my suspicion, the electricity to supply wasn’t working. After a further several phone calls and voicemails to before mentioned phone numbers we set up across the way. After a five hour drive, we didn’t want yet another journey down a horrible bumpy road to reception with 3 young children in tow.

That road really does need repairing.

The club always had something entertaining for the children which was lovely to see as it gave adults the time to relax and enjoy them selfs as well knowing the children were also having fun, the main part for us having older children though was they had a pool table and an arcade so our teenagers could go of and have some fun as well as parents that was really nice because normally there’s not really much for older teenagers to do, the swimming pool was also fun not to big but enough for everyone to have fun and a splash about, the shower blocks where good sizes and the showers were fine and well took care of, location wise it was also good we went to the monster slides which was literally a minute away there were beeches not to far either and Bude was about 11 minutes drive, there was more than enough to do, plus there was also a laundrette on sight which was ideal if your a large family like our selfs, the sight it selfs was well maintained and friendly staff food was was also lovely at the club house we ate there a few times and never had an issue.

The main thing for us as a family because we were camping was that it’s quite hilly so we did find our selfs struggling with this due to one of our lads being wheelchair bound however we was told about it being hilly, and it was our choice to risk it so I would say even though the site is more than happy to help with anyone in a wheelchair etc just keep it in mind that it is hilly and it can be a challenge, plus the week of our visit the weather was awful so the ground was just boggy everywhere we walked we found the ground held a lot of water and didn’t drain away as we hoped, but again we had a lot of rain.

The park overall, kids were entertained. Food was nice and evening entertainment was good.

The pitch being on a hill, had no sleep due to keep slipping down the bed no matter which way it was put.
Showers were very temprimentral, when asked about them just got told there's too many visitors for the size of the tank!
Left 4 days early which was disappointing due to how much we paid.
