Very dog friendly, and everyone was super friendly generally. A lovely place, quiet and with great walks on the doorstep, and just a few minutes drive into Penrith. Nice bar and cafe / shop, plenty of clean bathroom facilities

The scenery is very pretty however the shortfalls negate the overall experience

Our overall experience was disappointing due to the evident lack of thought by the management.
Arrived just before 2pm. We were advised the onsite shop was closed and would open the following day. This is quite surprising as most people are likely to buy food and /or drink when they arrive.
We were also advised that the onsite pub was open but they didn't serve food.. Drink only. We decided to go to the pub nonetheless, which we noticed it's closing time was 8pm so not even a possibility of a glass of wine after this time unless you had already brought some with you.. Same goes for food.
On entering the pub we could hardly hear ourselves speak due to them showing football on large TV screens. As we both detest football we decided to go into the adjoining room where where there were several other families trying to get away from the main bar. As we sat down we noticed yet another large screen playing football.. The owners clearly like football and have decided to force it on you.. They need to get it into their heads that not everyone likes football and should be given the choice to sit in peace. We decided to finish up and leave.
While we were setting up the caravan we went to fill our water bottle to find that the water taps were out of order and were advised by another frustrated customer that we needed to walk a certain distance to the next water point.
On our departure we went to empty our bottles to find the path blocked by a piece of tractor machinery that had been there since our arrival. This required us to go up a kurb with our bottles having a laiden weight of 50kg. We walked right around the block to see if there was an alternative access point only to slip on the film of moss on the concrete. This further indicated the lack of thought demonstrated by the management in general. Our findings are pretty similar to the experiences of others who have left reviews on trip advisor.
Lowther Park, you really do need to pick your socks up and quickly!!

It was our first adventure in our recently purchased campervan. I'm so glad we picked this site. Everyone was really friendly, from our checking in, to the lady cleaning the shower block. Everyone was really helpful. We have nothing negative to say about our stay. Myself and Charlotte will always have memories of our first adventure, so thank you for making them great memories ❤️.

Cons

The pub on site does not serve food anymore
The shop / bakery can be low on supplies like poo bags
Occ large aircraft overhead swooping nearby can be startling for adults , children and dogs
Can hear the moterway traffic
After requesting a pitch near to toilets the block I was nearest too was closed most of weekend .
