We had the most idyllic stay at North Down Orchard. The site is beautiful and tranquil, surrounded by old apple orchards buzzing with wildlife. The situation of the bell tents, in a quiet shady meadow, is perfect. There's everything you need - a firepit/BBQ, a simple field kitchen with a fridge, kettle and toaster and sink, and clean showers. The composting loos might not suit those of a very sensitive nature but they are easy to get used to. The cider barn, on a Friday evening, was tremendous fun, with delicious cider made on the farm and excellent street food. We can't wait to come back.

Coming home

This was a return visit, that was how much we like this site.

The bell tent was lovely and comfortable; the kettle, tea, coffee and hot chocolate was a lovely touch. The Toilet and showers were clean. The kitchen area with seating and the use of a microwave, hot plate, fridge and freezer was a luxury.

The owner was very friendly, and we loved having Raleigh the dog for company.

We stayed for a Friday and really enjoyed the live music and yummy cider.

Great setting and facilities with a really helpful and friendly owner. The Friday night pizza van and cider barn were a great touch, good atmosphere and great to see locals supporting the orchard. Hot showers and a well equipped kitchenette.

It’s the second time we’ve camped here and we love it. There’s so much space for the kids to run about, the meadow is beautiful and the bar in the evening had such a good atmosphere. Thank you so much for having us!

A great base to go out and explore the area but be warned the campsite is so lovely you might not want to leave. It is quiet and scenic and very well kept whilst still keeping the “wild” camping feel.

Lovely field - very quiet and peaceful. Delicious cider too. Orchard beautiful and walks on the doorstep. Owner was very helpful.

What a great find this was, a really peaceful site on a working cider farm within striking distance of 2 good pubs. The Main camping field was huge with lots of wild flowers, you could pick your own pitch and there were composting toilets and showers available. Very much camping as it used to be and so much better for it, we'll definitely be returning here in the future.

Setting and views were great allowing for lovely sunsets. Instant hot water and compost toilets clean and no smells. Enjoyed Friday night entertainment at cider barn.

Made to feel so welcome upon arrival. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Being dog friendly was such a positive. Our 2 young boys said “it was the best camping trip ever” and we have been on many over the years. WILL definitely return. We highly recommend. Thanks again David

This is a lovely place to stay: really beautiful green site with lots of trees... definite attention to sustainability and a very friendly resident dog. The cider is rather lovely too.
